We Have a New Home!
In February, after months of searching, our Board of Directors authorized Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida to move forward on the purchase of a building that will serve as the new administrative headquarters for GSSEF. We are very excited to share that we have found a new home that will meet the needs of our staff team and membership for many years to come. Just this week we have completed all of the necessary inspections and appraisals, and we look forward to closing next month.

The building is located at 6944 Lake Worth Road about 1 mile east of the Florida Turnpike.

Built in 2015, this building meets all of our requirements in terms of size, age, geographic location and accessibility to a major highway. While it is currently occupied by a medical office, they will move out later this summer so we can begin making it our own. Although there is a lot that we really like about the building, there is still work to be done to customize and configure the space to best serve our Girl Scout staff team and membership.

Throughout the construction and moving process, we will provide you with updates and visuals of our continued progress. While the timeline is aggressive, we have extreme confidence in our team and those professionals we will be working with to keep us on track. If all goes according to plan, we will move at the end of the year and will host a grand opening celebration after the New Year.

As we approach the 10th anniversary of Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida in 2018, we are so excited about the opportunity to finally have our in-based team members housed under one roof and for us to have a permanent home. It's the perfect stepping stone for another decade of serving girls in South Florida.

What does our Top Cookie Seller do to celebrate another successful cookie season? She thinks of others and donates cookies of course! Amanda K. along with her fellow hard-working Girl Scouts from Troop 10442 donated 30 cases of cookies to the Jubilee Center of South Broward, Inc. this year. This is the sixth year that this community-minded troop has donated cookies to local organizations.

Troop 24301 visited the Forgotten Soldiers Outreach in Lake Worth. These go-getters brought bags of donated items that they had collected, toured the facility, learned how this organization helps our women and men serving in the military, and helped pack individual "we care" packages and squad boxes. The girls also got to see first-hand where all of the Cookies for the Military donations are delivered to and then shipped out to our military!
