  On the Move at GSSEF

Please help us in congratulating Allyson Maharaj who has accepted the position as Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida's Chief Financial Officer as we bid farewell to Jeff Vanier. Allyson began her Girl Scout journey 13 years ago this coming November in legacy Palm Glades as a Finance Assistant. Throughout her tenure, Allyson has demonstrated her dedication and commitment to our organization's mission, and is ready and highly capable of taking on this new challenge.

Please join us in welcoming Alese Cauley to the role of Finance Assistant in the Finance Department. Alese has been working with us for the past 5 months on a temp to hire basis, and has very quickly proven herself to be an asset to the department and to our organization! Alese brings many years of accounting experience to our team, and is just as pleasant as she is efficient.

Welcome, Alese and congratulations Allyson!

Please welcome our new Get Real Program Facilitator, Denise Simmons! Denise will be working alongside of Patricia Brooks and replaced Rhonda Rogers to deliver the Get Real program curriculum to girls attending Lauderdale Lakes Middle School.

Denise has spent several years as a Community Health Educator for Planned Parenthood in their Teen Outreach program and as a Program Manager for the University of Miami. She currently volunteers as a Senior Program Director for Impart Kingdom Ministries and is the Youth Department Director at her Church. She also operates two small businesses following her other passion in media and photography.

Please help us in giving her a warm Girl Scout welcome as she began her journey with our council in late September!

Shout Out to Military Members: Did You Receive Cookies?
Calling all active members or veterans of our armed forces - and their families. Have you ever received Girl Scout cookies while you were deployed either domestically or overseas? Or did you receive cookies while at the VA or through other veteran outreach programs? If so, we'd love to hear from you. As we countdown to the kick-off of our annual Cookies for the Military program, we'd love to feature you in our campaign and thank you for your service. We want our donors to know that cookies really are delivered far and wide, and that even the small things can make a difference. Help us reach our biggest goal to date of 70,000 boxes of cookies sent. Please send your name and contact information to Melinda Glasco at mglasco@gssef.org if you are interested in being featured.
