YOUR WEEKLY NEWS & UPDATES
We Hope You had a Fun & Safe Holiday!
There was no weekend this year to commemorate the 242nd "Birthday" of the United States. However, we doubt that deterred anyone from celebrating with their favorite libations. If you are in the mood for more wine after the holiday we have some refreshing recommendations to beat the heat (not sure we can help with the mosquitos) - check out our "Staff Picks" section. Keep in mind, easy drinking and refreshing wines don't have to be synonymous with lesser quality. There are plenty of value wines that don't compromise on quality or deliciousness - just ask our knowledgeable staff. We do feel it might be a good weekend to pick wines that don't demand too much attention so you can concentrate on what matters - like relaxing with family and friends on your patio or boat!
Don't Forget the Basilica Block Party is this weekend!

Madison's Pick:
2017 Ca' Maiol Molin Lugana
Another good summertime white to cool off a hot day. This little Trebbiano di Lugana from the shores of beautiful Lake Garda is delicously refreshing with crisp minerality, bright fruits, a little bit of chalk with pear, green apple, and lime zest.    -$23.99
Doug's Pick:
2017 Tasca d'Almerita, Regaleali Bianco Sicilia DOC
If you arrived early last Friday night to our instore tasting then you had the fortune of trying this incredible white wine from the island of Sicily. We blew through it in the first few minutes of pouring as it dawned on us how perfect this wine pairs with hot summer nights and how forgiving it is with the pocketbook. As a white blend of Inzolia, Grecanico, Catarratto, and Chardonnay, this wine features a nice acid profile with fruit character spanning from pears and green apples to grapefruits. This is an absolutely perfect wine to open up during those lassez faire days of sun and fun over the next few months. -$15.99
Patti's Pick:
2017 Left Coast Cellars Rosé
This Rosé was made in the good ol' USA - Oregon's Willamette Valley to be specific. Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier make up the majority of the blend (a dash of Pinot Blanc is the remainder). It was fermented & aged for 4 months in neutral french oak, which created a lovely texture. Cherry & strawberry are accented by apple, citrus, tea, and a hint of something almost smoky. Firmer tannins and a touch of lip-smacking tartness from the Pinot Meunier make it a fun departure from other rosé out there. Did we mention it pairs well with fireworks and warm weather?
-$19.99
Dave's Pick:
2015 Matthiasson Vineyards Tendu California White Blend
Steve Matthiasson won the James Beard award for his work spearheading the California natural wine movement. His wines are delicately crafted and fresh relying on careful vineyard management and minimal intervention in the winery. This philosophy extends to the Tendu bottlings. The white wine is based on Vermentino from the Windmill vineyard with small amounts of racy French Colombard and lean Chardonnay. The wine is fermented in neutral oak and the result is rich white with crisp minerality. The style and the liter bottle make it perfect for summer barbecues.  -$21.99
