Autumn is Always Awesome!

I love when I reflect back on a weekend at ISD and realize "wow we sure had a lot going on in a short amount of time!" And this weekend was no exception. Saturday night we held our bi-monthly Psychic Fair, where I and my wonderful intuitive colleagues Rev. Patricia Makin, Rev. Ken Foor, Rev Fran Wright, Deacon Martha Saenz, Lyriel Claire, Anna Jalickee, and LInda Voss offered 15 minute readings to an enthusiastic, energized group of clients who kept the evening humming at a vivacious vibration. Lilya DeBoer-Wilcox was our ever-so-trusty registrar and Michelle Loy helped with setting up and with staffing the bookstore. Earlier that day, Rev. Fran Wright and one of our newest members Sylvia Wrate served as a dedicated "spruce-up" crew and used some real elbow grease to tackle some overdue projects. Thanks to everyone who made Saturday a success!

Sunday was another special day! During the service we were blessed with the musical accompaniment of the talented Jason Kent West, who rushed from his earlier church musician gig to volunteer his talents for our service.  After service, we were treated to an absolutely amazing workshop in Spoon Bending, offered by the delightful Tammy La Drew. Tammy showed us how to tap into our deepest, most authentic selves to connect with the flow of energy that allowed participants to easily bend the silverware as if it was rubber! It was a magical weekend all around.

And since we never rest on our laurels, we have yet another magical week and weekend coming up so get ready! Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Rev. Ken Foor continues with class three of  "Kundalini Yoga for Beginners and Beyond,"  The class begins 7:30 p.m. and will run this and conclude next week, November 24. If you haven't done yoga in awhile or never done it, this is the class for you! Kundalini Yoga can be done in a chair and/or on the floor so it is perfect for all levels. Yet another fabulous chance to get spiritually "tuned up and toned" for the coming winter months.

Saturday afternoon from 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m, Rev. Ken is back with his workshop on The Emotion Code, You'll learn how to identfy trapped emotions in our subconscious that need to come to light so we can move forward creating our life and manifesting our heart's desires.

And Sunday November 22 is a special day in the annual church calender: Dedication Sunday. During our special worship service we will affirm our intentions for ISD's coming year and pledge our energy and financial resources as an investment in the LIfeforce of our Spiritual Home. And then we will celebrate with another wonderful luncheon, this time at Busara's Restaurant in Tyson's Corner. Reservations are necessary, so please reply at [email protected] or call the office at 202-363-7106 to make yours today and join in our celebration!

You can read the reflections here of some of the ISD members who spoke at last week's Open House luncheon about what their spiritual home means to them, and I invite you to send me your thoughts too! Answer "what has ISD meant to you since you first started attending?" in 200-500 words and email me at [email protected].

Let's keep making our Autumn an amazing one. Make sure to check our Facebook page here, and our Instagram account here - then check back again and again for updates!

The Emotion Code, developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson, is a powerful and simple way to rid yourself of unseen baggage - those emotionally-charged events from your past that can still be haunting you in the form of "trapped emotions." These emotional energies literally inhabit your body. Releasing the trapped emotions, without reliving them, often results in the sudden disappearance of physical problems, self-sabotage, and recurring relationship difficulties.
