Dear Friends,
The Chris Klug Foundation is dedicated to making a difference for those awaiting a lifesaving organ transplant, over 114,000 people today. Through our educational outreach program, Donor Dudes, we share the message of donation with tens of thousands of youth annually. During a Donor Dudes event at the US Snowboard Nationals in 2010 we met someone we will always remember, Dylan Peters.
Dylan shared the same passion for snowboarding as our founder, Chris Klug. After learning what Donor Dudes represents he made the heroic and selfless decision to become an organ and tissue donor. A year later we were deeply saddened to learn from his mother that he had been in a fatal car accident. Dylan gave four people a second chance at life! The recipient of Dylan’s heart shared, “The choice Dylan and his family made unbeknownst to them created a miracle. Dylan’s extraordinary gift has allowed me to live the life I never dreamed was possible. I am forever grateful for the process of organ donation and the people who create awareness about this vital symmetry of life.”
This story, among others, reflects the powerful impact of our Foundation’s work. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to educate young people across the country about the importance of organ donation. Last year we reached over 100,000 individuals with our donor message through fifty Donor Dudes events and 1,000 videos distributed nationwide. We are well on our way to doubling that number this year through our expanded programs and events. With your support, we can educate and inspire even greater numbers and save even more lives.
Only through the generosity of our financial supporters can we continue to share the vital message of organ and tissue donation. Please consider making a donation. Our generous supporters, The Slater Foundation, will match the first $5,000 in donations.
Thank you for believing in our mission!
Sincerely,
Jenny Dziura
