THE ELEPHANT PIECE
comes to Portland!

Snowlion Rep announces its production of the unique new musical The Elephant Piece by Darryl Curry coming this spring! At its first production in New York, the Downtown Express wrote "Ionesco meets Greenpeace in this effectively disturbing absurdist fable...an eerie, surreal vaudeville song-and-dance revue...this show sings when at its nastiest."

Performed in a minstrel show format, The Elephant Piece is fun, funny, and "deliciously bizarre" as it follows the exploits of a group of Hackers lusting after the last elephant on earth.  The violence of homo sapiens as a species is tempered by the unconditional love of a child and the innate wisdom of Elephant.  This musical tale is more relevant than ever as the majestic elephant once again faces unrelenting devastation by poachers.  This show packs a "powerful punch!" (Theater Week)  Time and place will be announced in future issues.

Also coming this year will be Vincent Sessa's Moral and Political Lessons on 'Wyoming', an Orwellian comedy about censorship and the enduring value of theater in enriching and uplifting the spirit.  More details coming soon!

This season presents 2 great examples of shows that fulfill Snowlion Rep's mission - to delight audiences with shows of great cultural, ethical, and spiritual value.  Laugh, cry, and feed your soul this season with Snowlion Rep!
