We are miracle makers

If there is one thing that Rev. Kathy Kerston from ISD Sparta reminds me whenever I see her is that tapping into magic requires a suspension of LOGICAL thinking. "That is not my reality" is one of her key catch phrases, and when she says it, she means it...we can CLAIM what is real for us, just by asserting what we want to be our reality and what we don't. It is, in the BEST sense of the word, "magical thinking." Kathy is also a living example of another catch phrase she use often, "I am a miracle maker."  Kathy truly shows us in her teaching and her living that if she can do it, WE can do it.

So let's do this! Let's claim what we want for our reality and let's be the miracle makers we know that we are!

Of course ISD-DC is always offering opportunities to experience the metaphysical magic and miracles that are around us and within us.

TONIGHT, Wednesday February 22, we'll have our second Message Lottery, which is part of the emerging Wednesday Wonders Series that includes our Evening Meditation on the first Wednesday of each month, and the Message Lottery on the last. Your name and birthdate is put on a small ticket and thrown into a basket. The message bearer that draws your name from the basket will give you a message! We had so much informal fun at the first one, come and join in!

And who doesn't like going to the movies on a Friday evening? This Friday will be our first "Movie Night" at ISD in quite awhile, and is part of our new "Spiritual Screen & Share" series. We'll watch the magnificent animated 2015 masterpiece inspired by Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet, then share our feelings/thoughts/insights with each other after it is over! It's a $10 bargain for a Friday night, so bring yourself, or a date, or your family.

This Sunday, February 26, marks a Solar Eclipse AND a New Moon, in Pisces. According to our own Rev. Kathy Kerston from ISD-Sparta, this celestial event presents  a magnificent backdrop for us to begin manifesting a new and wonderful existence. To hone its rare power, she will be conducting a New Moon ceremony AFTER Sunday's Service. Kathy is offering this New Moon Service as a fundraiser for ISD-DC, so there is a suggested $20 Love offering. If you have your Human Design chart, Astrology chart or your treasure map from last weekend's Treasure Mapping workshop, please bring them to the service so they can be charged in the energy of the New Moon and Solar Eclipse. If you would like Kathy to plot your charts before Sunday's service, please email her no later than Saturday, February 25 at

Check out ISD's new Conversation Circle for women, the ISDivas, meeting this Sunday after service and New Moon Service.

The Pendulum can be a powerful psychic tool to help guide us to making the best choices for our life and situation. Rev. Patricia Makin will share with us the basics of using the pendulum to attune to Spirit to manifest more wisdom making decisions, both big and small. You won't want to miss this treat of a class, March 7, 14 and 21st.

And guess what is right around the corner? The 2017 Retreat! This year's theme is "Unleash YOUR Super Powers..." Now just imagine having amazing powers that we are born with or can hone and develop. Doesn't that bring a huge smile your face?  Check out the new brochure and register today!

There is even more on the schedule, and more being added, so be sure to check out the ISD website for the most recent updates and additions to the calendar of events.

If you know someone in need of special prayer, you can fill out our online prayer request. Our weekly Prayer Circle convenes every Sunday evening remotely to pray silently for those on the weekly list of requests.

Needing some inspiration or a recorded guided meditation to help you attune to Spirit? Check out ISD's Soundcloud page for a comprehensive list of past Sunday Service homilies, Sunday service meditations and evening meditations.

Love is for more than a month, so instead of "Happy Love Month," I wish you all HAPPY LOVE!
