It has been a fall to remember already. With news of hurricanes, the shooting in Las Vegas, the fires, and more, many of us find ourselves asking, “What will be next?” Or maybe “How can this really be happening?”
More important than why these things are happening is how we will choose to respond. There are many actions we can take, but our beginning point is to worship.
Scripture calls us to worship together not because God needs our worship, but because we need to worship. And our hearts need to worship something greater than human power or the accumulation of stuff. We need to worship our Creator, Redeemer, Sustainer, and Friend.
With gratitude for splashes of joy in life, we come to worship with the fullness of our hearts. For those places where you are feeling deep sadness or anger, please feel free to express that on our Wall of Lament in Trinity Court.
The phrase that has been on my mind of late is “better together.” We are better together than when we are apart. So let us then come together to worship and allow God to speak into our lives this Sunday at 7:50 a.m., 10 a.m., or 5 p.m.
I look forward to seeing you there!
