A Big Day!
Sunday, May 17 is a very big day!
Sunday, we have several celebrations happening during worship. During the first service, we will celebrate the Baptism of William Jonotta, son of Peter and Emily Jonotta. The bell choir will be playing at that service, too! In the second service, we'll celebrate with eight of our youth as they affirm God's work for them in Holy Baptism. We'll recognize educational leaders in our congregation. We will also install Christine Shander as our Christian Growth Coordinator. A celebratory brunch in honor of Christine's installation will be held between services in the Great Hall. This will be a great time for you to visit with Christine. It is also a means to celebrate that we are meeting long held goals of the congregation: the calling of a lay professional to work with youth, families, and people of all ages. The other big event of the day is the 2:00 p.m. organ concert being presented by Art Jaehnke. |
There's food involved!
Sunday, we'll install Christine Shander as our Christian Growth Coordinator. She will be installed at both services. Between services, a brunch will celebrate this important milestone in our ministry. For several years our congregation has dreamed of calling somebody to serve among people of all ages, with a special focus on youth and families. This dream has come true. This new staff position reflects our commitment to strong ministry for young folks. Join us Sunday in welcoming Christine! This expansion of our ministry is supported by your ongoing and generous contributions to the work of God through this congregation. Thank You!

Thanking Education Staff Sunday, Second Service Many people in our congregation work together to bring life to our education ministries. People serve in Sunday Schoo, they help lead Discipleship training, provide ministry in the nursery, and serve as teachers and staff at All God's Children Preschool. As the year draws to a close for these ministries, we'll thank folks for work well done. The work we do together matters. In our educational ministries, we help people grow in faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ. Each week, you are involved in this ministry, too. Your regular gifts help support the work we do! Thank you to everybody! |
Summer Worship Schedule Times are a-changin' for a few months Summer is here and with it comes a couple shifts to our weekend ministry schedule. The following weekend, Saturday, May 30, we will begin our Saturday Services, at 5:00 p.m. They will continue until August 30. Remember to worship - it's the central activity of the Christian life.
