A Message from the President
One of the primary functions of the Chamber is to advocate for business on a variety of issues. Advocacy is often done on a local or regional level, but also extends to the state and national government. Each year, the Executive Committee approves Legislative Priorities that are presented to state and national representatives to influence legislation and policy.  These priorities include education, economic development, transportation and the Robins Air Logistics Complex and Air Force Base.
We realize that we must work with our local and regional partners to focus our energy on creating not only a great community here in Macon, but also on growing and supporting the Middle Georgia region as well as the entire state. The priorities we have laid out will have an impact for years to come.  Working to ensure students are getting STEM opportunities now will later manifest in competitive job skills that will allow companies to keep jobs here, and encourage new companies to establish themselves in our region . The Middle Georgia Regional Airport Runway Extension will allow larger aircraft to utilize our local airport, creating jobs, opportunities, and possibly even extending travel options.
These are just two of the important priorities your Chamber is advocating for. I encourage you to be an advocate for business as well. The Macon-Bibb Legislative Delegation is hosting  A Taste of Macon-Bibb  on Tuesday, February 27 from 5:30-7:30 P.M. at the Historic Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta. I hope you will join us for the event. Come meet your representatives and let them know how much advocating for business means to you.
