National Brake Safety Day is Tomorrow, September 7th
The CVSA’s Brake Safety Day and another round of roadside inspections is coming tomorrow, September 7th. Inspections on large trucks and buses will be conducted by local, state, provincial, territorial, and federal motor carrier safety officials in the United States and Canada.
"Brake system violations accounted for 26.9 percent of the vehicle out-of-service violations during International Roadcheck, back in May of this year, and brakes being out of adjustment accounted for another 14.5 percent,” said Fred Andersky, Bendix director of government and industry affairs.
While brakes are the focus of the safety day, a full Level 1, 37-point inspection may be conducted. We suggest reminding your drivers to do a thorough pre-check of their trucks prior to driving tomorrow.
Should the unfortunate circumstance arise that your truck gets placed out of service, give us a call. We have tow truck drivers and mechanics available to help . When you're a customer of Nick's Towing Service you can rest assured we always have your back! 1-800-222-8691

Pr-Trip for Brake Safety Readiness
Walk around the vehicle daily to visually inspect brake components and listen for audible air system leaks. Examine wheel-ends to make sure that the air chambers, push rods, and slack adjusters are not damaged, dented, corroded or hanging loose.
