Budget negotiations are underway!
WE NEED TO SAVE CEQ!
Slated for complete elimination under the Governor's original proposal for a biennial budget, and with budget negotiations underway, the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) does not look to be a priority for funding in any of the budget proposals for FY18-19.

NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT TO SAVE CEQ!

CEQ is the state's independent watch-dog agency that the public relies upon to monitor environmental progress, assess the efficacy of state environmental laws, policies and programs, and investigate alleged violations of environmental laws -- all for $174,000/year!

Action:
If you have already contacted your legislators in support of CEQ during the regular session, THANK YOU! And if they have voiced support for restoring funding for CEQ, please THANK THEM!   Either way, your legislators need to hear from you TODAY! (Please bcc abpaterson@ctconservation.org )

If we don't speak up to save CEQ, who will?

Thank you for taking action!

With best regards,
Amy
Amy Blaymore Paterson,  Executive Director

P.S. CEQ is planning to publish an update to the state's annual environmental quality report today!  Watch for an announcement or check the CEQ website.
