HERE'S A GREAT TIP!When I'm usi ng the Taurus ring saw, the water soaks into the pattern and makes it turn to mush. I can cover the edges with an inexpensive "chapstick" to make the paper water resistant so that it isn't such a problem. Thanks to David Lantrip for this tip. We posted $10 to his store account.
If you have a tip you want to share, send it to [email protected].
If we select it for publication, you'll get $10
posted to your store account too!

Scrappy Glass Garden Collage with Angela Chandler Sunday, April 27 from 1 to 4pm $36 plus scrap, zinc & soldering supplies
**Copper Foil Skills Required**
This is your chance to use the scrap glass & zinc that accumulates from other projects. Every time you see your yard art, it will remind you of the projects you've built in the past. We're going to start by building a frame from SCRAP zinc. Then, we'll use scrap glass to create a whimsical collage to display in your garden. In addition to your scrap glass, you can add glass elements such as dishes, fused elements, agates, or "globs". You'll be able to put it on a stake to display at ground level or hang it on your patio, tree, deck or fence. If you have an ample selection of scrap, the supplies for this class will cost almost nothing. If you need scrap glass, we have a lot at $2.50 per pound. Or you can scope out the value corner for some great buys. If you register at the last minute, please come early so that you can select scrap and start foiling. You'll need about 25-35 pieces foiled before class begins.

Intro to Fused Glass with Joyce Sullivan Saturday, April 26 from 1 to 5pm $65 plus glass for one project
**No experience Required**
If you've been wondering where to start with glass fusing, this is your class.
Coefficient of expansion? De-vitrification? Volume Control? If you glaze over when you hear these words, this is your class. This is a beginning fusing class but not one of those "make it and bake it" fusing classes where you lay up the project and we fire it for you. This is a comprehensive curriculum geared toward teaching you the skills you need to fuse and slump successfully on your own.
We'll start with workshop safety and we don't stop until you've learned about compatibility, stress testing, annealing, firing schedules and a whole lot more! We'll discuss designing your artwork and how to deconstruct too. Even though there are a lot of technical terms, we'll introduce the information in a format that makes it fun and easy to learn.

Wow! Now you can create amazing jewelry with your dichroic cabochons.

This project requires the use of four different pairs of jewelry pliers. We will use round nose, flat nose, flush cutter and nylon-jaw pliers. You can purchase pliers on the day of class or come by the store ahead of time to select them.
We will have a variety of wire and cabochons available. If you have something that you want to wrap, bring it to class. The cabs can be square, rectangle, round or oval and cannot be greater than 1.5" in either direction. The cab shown in the photo is approximately 1"x1.5".

Having birds in your yard is a sure sign of spring. Since spring is already here, it's time to welcome our birds with their own oasis. Using glass mosaics, we can also make their bird bath appealing for our human visitors.
During this class, you'll learn how to transfer the design to an affordable 16" terra cotta saucer to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art for your yard. Angela will also teach how to nip different shapes, how to choose the adhesive and how to finish the edges of your bird bath.
Select your pattern and glass before class starts. If you cut your focal areas ahead of time, you'll get a lot more out of the class.
Grouting instructions will be discussed to be grouted at home.
The birdbath shown above was created by Andrea Turner in a previous birdbath class.
