The Arrowhead Arts Awards Nomination Deadline
Nominations for the Arrowhead Arts Awards are due Friday!

November 17th, 2017 , is the deadline to nominate an individual for the Arrowhead Arts Awards . If you know of an artist or arts advocate living in the region who should be recognized for their work, consider nominating them for one of these prestigious awards. Please help us to identify the many worthy artists and advocates in the region.  

The Annual Arrowhead Arts Awards recognize two outstanding individuals in the region who have made major contributions to the arts in the region. The awards include:

  • the George Morrison Artist Award: which recognizes an individual artist whose body of work has made a significant contribution to the arts over an extended period of time; and

  • the Maddie Simons Arts Advocate Award: which recognizes an arts administrator, arts educator, volunteer for a nonprofit arts organization, or artist whose involvement in a project or program has substantially contributed to the arts in the Arrowhead Region.

MNsure Health Insurance Coverage
Enroll for 2018 health insurance today!

MNsure is an online marketplace where individuals, families, and small businesses in Minnesota can compare and choose health insurance plans. Make sure you're covered by a health insurance plan for 2018!

Open enrollment runs from November 1st, 2017 until January 14th, 2018.

Enroll by December 20th, 2017 for coverage that begins January 1st, 2018.

If you enroll in a plan between December 21st, 2017 and January 14th, 2018, coverage will begin on February 1st, 2018.

MN State Arts Board FY 2019 Operating Support application materials now available

The Operating Support program is intended to support organizations for which providing arts activities or services is the primary mission and purpose. To be eligible for the Operating Support program, applicants must be structured in one of the following ways:
  • A nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt arts organization with an arts focused mission; or
  • An arts affiliate, operating as a distinct arts focused program hosted within a Minnesota public or nonprofit 501(c)(3) nonarts institution

AND must be one of the following:
  • An arts producing organization,
  • An arts presenting organization,
  • A community arts school or conservatory, or
  • An artist service organization

AND must:
  • Be physically located in Minnesota, with the majority of its arts programming, services, or activities taking place in Minnesota, and must primarily serve and engage Minnesota audiences and participants;
  • Have been in existence and actively providing arts programming in Minnesota for two consecutive full years before applying to the Operating Support grant program for the first time;
  • Have two-year qualifying expenses, averaged over fiscal years 2015 and 2016, of $166,000 or more;
  • Receive at least ten percent of its total unrestricted revenue from charitable arts support, averaged over fiscal years 2015 and 2016;
  • Have at least one paid, professional, administrative staff person in a contract or salaried position.

First time applicants should carefully review the Program Overview and Application Instructions and then call the program officer, Richard Hitchler, BEFORE beginning an application.

FY 2019 applications must be submitted and accepted before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018. For more information about the grant program and how to apply, click here !
