In a recent interview, my final tip for finding success in 2017 was "Be prepared for your next success." We spend so much time prepping for big breaks, we stop planning for what's around the bend of current success. Some of the best advice we've heard as a team includes: 1) Dress for the job you want, not the job you have; and 2) Surround yourself with people who make you a better person. 

For Dress for Success San Antonio, we have GREAT things around the corner. This year we celebrate 15 years of serving the community.  Thank you for being a partner in our efforts to help San Antonio succeed! We couldn't do it without you.

When Sharlene walks into a room, you can't help but notice her. Her warm personality and smile compete for attention in a room, and they both win! But Sharlene's life has not always been jovial. Her story of success has taken her full circle. A native of Chicago, she came to us in 2014 for help out of a domestic violence situation. When Sharlene needed help the most, Dress for Success San Antonio was able to give her the tools necessary to help her rebuild her self-esteem. But most importantly, we provided the support and resources needed to empower her as she rebuilt her life. Last year, Sharlene participated in our Going Places Network cohort and thrived. She was the light of the class, the cheerleader of her peers and a joy to be around. Sharlene genuinely cares about other people and wants to help other women reach their full potential. Because of her contagious energy and passion, it was only a small surprise when she came in recently to let us know she was leaving us. Her opportunity for success had presented itself as a new job at a non-profit in Colorado. Sharlene says, "Dress for Success San Antonio has impacted my life in a positive way, by giving me the support and tools needed to keep going forward. I am so thankful for everything you all have done. I'm ready!"
