A Prayer for the Athletes

This is my prayer for the athletes 
Because you are more than what you can do
With your hands and your feet
You are more than taking a football down a field
You are more than setting up a volleyball for a kill
You are more than hitting a baseball with a bat
And you're more than shooting a basketball through a net

Exciting Times and Ministry Going on in Michigan!
SW Michigan FCA

SW Michigan FCA staff held their first Northside Kalamazoo Basketball Camp June 20th-22nd. Twenty-seven campers in grades 1-5 enjoyed the camp experience and 4 of them accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior! Our staff are working hard to build lasting relationships with the people of Kalamazoo and God's kingdom is growing as a result of His marvelous grace!
Running our Race to Reach More Students for Christ!
Saturday, June 10th our Northern MI staff held the 37th Annual Ludington Lakestride!  It was a beautiful day right along Lake Michigan for this 5K, 10K and Half Marathon that raises support for the Northern Michigan FCA ministry.  Over 1,200 runners participated!  Contact [email protected] (pictured in photo) for more information or to get signed up for next year!  Our goal is to see this race attract over 5,000 runners!  Don't miss it!  


FCA Area Representative for Washtenaw and Western Wayne county of Michigan, Steve Anderson recently shared that
two new huddles have officially started the last month of school and are ready to boom in the fall at Romulus HS and Saline HS!   This is great news and a job well done to Steve for expanding FCA's influence in more MI schools! 
South Central Michigan FCA


Updating us on FCA ministry in South Central MI, Area Representative, Bill Lundberg, recently shared about an FCA huddle at Reading High School.   The Reading Rangers Team FCA met every Monday morning from January to June with the support and involvement of Bill, a coach from their school and a local pastor. They consistently had 15-20 young men and women participate in the huddle every Monday for the past 15 weeks. Praise God for using FCA to help these students finish the school year strong!   
Central MI FCA
On May 8th, FCA Area Director, Rock Campbell and other staff in Central MI, held their 27th Annual FCA Ironman Golf Marathon at Pilgrim's Run Golf Club. The event is a major fundraising event for Michigan FCA, providing funds for camp scholarships, Bibles and huddle resources. 27 players enjoyed a fantastic day of golf, many playing over 100 holes at this outstanding venue, rated one of the Top 100 Public Courses in America by Golf Digest Magazine.

Wayne County/Detroit MI
Here's a quick update that our Wayne County/Detroit, MI Representative Titus Scott, provided.

"We have been able to see multiple huddles restarted across the county, and currently have 6 high school huddles established.  The photos pictured are of our first huddle meetings at Plymouth/Canton/Salem high school (centered at the top) and of Osborn High School students (to the left) on the day we gave the students Bibles." We're excited to see how God continues to grow FCA's ministry in Wayne county, MI this coming school year!
One More Praise Report from Michigan FCA State Director

"Really excited that already this summer we have been able to team up with several Christian basketball organizations to provide over 65 FCA Bibles and resources to athletes who have made a decision to receive Christ.  These camps included the Grand Rapids Dream Center "Hoop Dreams" Camp in Grand Rapids and Dave Holston Basketball Camp at Avondale High School in Auburn Hills. FCA is able to come alongside and encourage these coaches and local organizations to get God's Word into the hands of new believers!  Praise God!"
