After months of planning (and a schedule bumped up due to our current social distancing measures), I am thrilled to announce that the WNBA's Bookwoman Book Club launches TODAY!

This is NOT an April Fool's joke.
This virtual monthly book club for WNBA members will read selections from our Great Group Reads (GGR) lists . I can't wait to read the books the GGR readers chose as their favorites.

During this period of isolation, when so many of us crave conversation and community, I'm looking forward to having the book club to turn to — to have a place to interact with my fellow WNBA members across the country. A place to talk and laugh and connect.

April Book
Could we really start with any other book? Doesn't the title just call to you?

The Format
Each month, the book club will begin on the first and end on the last day of the month.

A GGR book will be selected for each month and announced in our newsletters.

The book club will primarily take place throughout the month in a private Facebook group. On the last Tu esday of each month, we will have a live discussion through chat software, which you do not need to be on Facebook to participate in.

Because the book club lasts a full month, you can read the book at any point throughout the month.

We will be having regular discussion threads and activities on Facebook that you can participate in without having read or finished the book.

Prior to the live discussion on April 28, an email will be sent out with instructions for how to join the live discussion.
The Moderator
Jennifer Holmes (San Francisco) will be the main moderator for the book club.
