The Coral Gables Community Foundation is proud to announce the 2013 "Viva Las Gables" gala presenting sponsor: The Lincoln Motor Company.
This October 19th at the Coral Gables Country Club, guests will enjoy an evening of fun, elegance and the opportunity to experience the 2013 Lincoln MKZ.
The event will also include a live dinner show, casino gaming, live musical entertainment, as well as both silent and live auctions. This year's event promises to be the best yet as old-time Vegas meets Coral Gables!

The Foundation's Ponce Society of Young Professionals would like to thank Coral Gables La Salle Cleaners (located at 2341 S Le Jeune Road) for dry cleaning the shirts so the team could look especially good on Game Days! MERRICK SOCIETY
Coral Gables city founder George Merrick is credited with establishing the University of Miami in Coral Gables in 1925 (Charter date on April 18*). His complete vision for Coral Gables included a world-class institution of higher learning. Online accounts of the amount of land he donated vary from 160 to 240 to 600 acres, and so do accounts of the amount of his contribution: $4 million dollars is the lowest. Although lots started selling in Coral Gables in 1921, the City was not incorporated until April 29, 1925, after the University of Miami charter.** The first building used for UM classes was the then "Anastasia Hotel" at the corner of Le Jeune Road and University Drive.
