FALA Does Not Follow FUSD in Determining When to Call a Snow Day 

FALA determines when to call a snow day independent of FUSD. We base our decision on the weather forecast given by the National Weather Service, road conditions, and snow removal efforts on our campus.

If you have a question about whether FALA has called a snow day, you should first consult our website. If you've been checking the website and don't see updated information about a possible snow day, make sure that you click "refresh" on your Web browser so the most recent information shows on your screen. You can also call our office and the outgoing message will indicate whether we've called a snow day. Lastly, visit the Arizona Daily Sun's website or listen to 91.7 (KNAU) for information.

We will make the determination by 7:00 am and will have all four sources of information updated by that time.

In the past, there have been instances where FUSD has called a second snow day and FALA has not. This is because FUSD has several campuses that they must clear of snow and FALA, of course, has only one. If most roads are clear and our campus parking lot and walkways have been cleared of snow, we will resume school.

If FALA has not called a snow day, but roads in your neighborhood remain uncleared, we ask you to take your student's safety into consideration when determining whether he/she can safely travel to school.
