CUSTOMER SPOTLIGHT:

Leader Printing (Jacksonville, Arkansas) has been using WebPress equipment since 1989, when they purchased a line consisting of 6 Web Leader units, rollstands, and a folder.  Over the years they have added additional equipment, including a Quadra Color and three Quad-Stack units as well as an additional folder.

Garrick Feldman, owner & publisher, reported that The Leader was recently awarded the 2015 General Excellence Award from the Arkansas Press Association Better Newspaper Contest for the 7th time in the last 8 years.  They also received 31 category-specific awards, including first-place awards for Single Feature Photograph, Single Sports Action Photograph, and Coverage of Tourism among others.  The Leader also won the Advertising Sweepstakes Award and first-place honors for Best Special Sports section and Best Use of Process Color at the APA's winter convention earlier this year.

"We couldn't consistently win these awards without the quality produced by our WebPress color units", states the publisher.   "Our staff is very pleased that the equipment has the ability to highlight their work."

Garrick depends on the reliability of their printing units, and appreciates the support Leader Printing receives  from WebPress.  "The only problem for you guys (WebPress) is that our equipment just keeps on working...we'll probably never need to replace it."

We're happy that you're happy, Garrick!

WE LOVE TO HELP YOU CELEBRATE!

We are aware that many of our customers are receiving awesome accolades from their respective press associations.

Next month we will be recognizing  our customers who have won awards in the NNA Better Newspaper Contests, and some of the State and Regional contests that we are aware of.

Many of our customers are known to us by their "printshop division" name rather than the newspapers they publish. If your company or its associated publications have received journalism, advertising, or print awards you are proud of, please let us know!

Send us your news so we can celebrate with you

INTRINSIC VALUE OF NEWSPAPERS

"They (newspapers) stand up for their communities, whether they are big or small, and they fight for change. It's very unusual to see big media campaigns fighting for any meaningful social change in a medium other than newspapers and their associated websites. Much has changed in newspapers over the years, but one thing that hasn't is that we still pride ourselves on being the voice of our communities."

Christina Ongley, group content and special projects editor of APN Australian Regional Media (from a July 1, 2015 Editor and Publisher article titled "Publishing Down Under")
