A Letter from the Director
Lots of good things are happening at Weber!

As you enter Weber from the North, you will notice a new window on the wall of the Women's Resource Center. This soon will become an extension of the Weber Shop and will offer artwork created by Adrian Dominican Sisters and others.

Before our former Director, Sister Peg O'Flynn, OP, left, she arranged for Weber Center to receive new furniture on its Main and Garden Levels, and we get to reap the reward! The furniture for the main floor will arrive in the beginning of March; we hope you'll stop by soon to see our new look.

In these dreary days of February, brighten your spirit by attending one of Sister Esther Kennedy's Mindfulness programs or the Spring Equinox gathering. You might even consider a private retreat with one of our spiritual directors.

Among many of our March programs, we welcome George Heartwell, former Mayor of Grand Rapids, Michigan, who will share many ideas of how we can make our communities more sustainable. His presentation is free and open to all.

Come ... enter the Center and see what's new.

For some of us, present moment is painful, ugly, hurtful, shocking, and worrisome. For others of us, it may be very pleasant, ordinary, flowing with goodness and ease. Present moment ----  how do you experience the present moment today? Awareness of the present moment without blame or rejection is key to living life mindfully. Expectations and wishing things to be other than they are cause us suffering and sadness. They can also blur our seeing that these painful moments may hold the seeds of grace and inner peace flowing from acceptance.   Learn more

"Many of us long for an underlying sense of meaning...  a navigational force to pull all the disparate pieces of our lives together into some kind of wholeness."
----  Sharon Shalzberg, The Force of Kindness.

Today we pause to consider what uplifts us when we are feeling down, unsure, or kind of lost. What gives us a boost when we feel weak or hesitant? Let's consider the power of experiencing open-heartedness and kindness from another. It is like balm to one's spirit. There is a powerful force in kindness.   Learn more
