A Letter from the Director
Happy Spring!

Beginning in May, a Siena Heights University student will serve as an intern in our gift shop. Arthur, an international student from Brazil, will be with us through the summer. His communications and computer science majors will come in very handy!

We are also busy getting organized for the Holy Land Pilgrimage that takes place in June.

The warmer weather gives us a chance to invite our guests beyond Weber's walls into the gardens, the labyrinth, and the cosmic walk. Come check out our beautiful surroundings.

Sincerely,
Sister Janet

Circumstances in our lives can harden us, making us more angry and fearful. We can run away from them, leave, and feel quite justified. We can also let these same situations soften us, guiding us with greater compassion and open-heartedness. These are choices you and I have every day as we face experiences, relationships, and events that are uncomfortable, confusing, and not to our liking. One path leads to feelings of justification, a sense of righteousness, while the other, staying with the discomfort, becomes a way of personal transformation and wisdom.

We gather monthly as a Mindfulness Community to deepen our concentration and commitment to daily meditation practice. We support one another in cultivating seeds of kindness, compassion, and generosity so as to spread these seeds into our world of great beauty and also great suffering.  Learn more

Day of Mindfulness Meditation ----  Fresh Start
Presented by  Sister Esther Kennedy, OP

Saturday, May 20, 2017

Cost: $35 (includes lunch)
Adrian Dominican Sister: $25

Pema Chödrön teaches that "forgiveness is an essential ingredient of awakening the heart. It allows us to let go of the past and make a fresh start." The point of forgiveness is not to dwell in painful memories but with honesty and compassion to see where we might be stuck in guilt or resentment. Forgiveness is a natural expression of an open heart. It is what an open heart does ----  forgives. Often the forgiving begins with oneself and then reaches out beyond.
