Last week, the American Society for Clinical Oncology held the world's largest conference for cancer researchers, doctors and other medical professionals. Results from clinical trials and other studies were released, which gave scientists a fresh look at treatments that may or may not hold promise in the march toward a cure for cancer.
Fresh from his time there, Dr. Axel Grothey of the Mayo Clinic will explain what science is now telling us about colorectal cancer and how it may impact your treatment in the near future. For example, evidence shows us that colorectal cancer is most likely many different diseases, rather than just one disease. What does that mean for patients moving forward? Join us for this fascinating discussion.
About Dr. Grothey:
Axel Grothey is a Professor of Oncology and a Consultant in the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Oncology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He is the Vice Chair of the North Central Cancer Treatment Group (NCCTG) and the co-chair of the NCCTG GI committee. Dr. Grothey's major areas of clinical interest are GI malignancies, in particular, colorectal cancer, unknown primaries, and neuroendocrine tumors.
