flowers

As we approach the celebration of Christmas, we are offering everyone an opportunity to purchase poinsettias to be used in decorating the Knollwood Worship Center in honor of or in memory of loved ones.

The cost is $23 per plant (not tax-deductible).

Order Deadline: December 3rd

If you would like to order a poinsettia, either download the form on the church website or find a form on the Information Table. Attach your payment and put in the tray at the Information Table in the Worship Center foyer.  Payment must be attached to the completed form. Make checks payable to Knollwood and note "flower" in the memo section.

We will publish the name of your loved one(s) in the Christmas Eve program. You may take your plant home following the 6:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service.

Mission Ministry Persecuted Church Prayer
Focus - Sudan

Sudan has consistently been ranked in the top 20 countries with the hardest persecution against Christians since 1963. This year, Sudan is listed as the fifth worst country for treatment of believers.

It is the government's agenda to make Sudan a one-religion nation under Islam. The persecution against Christians is especially severe for Christian pastors. Many Sudanese pastors have been killed, fled the country, or suffered imprisonment. The pastors who remain in Sudan are few, and pastors who share the Bible and teach the truth are becoming rare. For those who remain the challenge to be bold for Christ is a dangerous one.

However, the Sudanese Christians have not despaired. According to one pastor,  "we want people to know that in spite of the situation that we are going through,...Christianity and the church in Sudan is still strong. What has happened has astonished us. But the simple Christians...who believe that God is involved in the situation, they encourage us and give us hope that Christianity is not finished in Sudan.
  • Please pray for these dear pastors who choose to remain in Sudan during these difficult times.
  • Pray that they would know that they are not forgotten by the Body of Christ.
  • Pray that they will be strengthened and encouraged through the Holy Spirit and continue to be bold for Christ.
  •  Pray for the believers to remain strong in their faith and for the hearts of unbelievers to be changed and turned to Christ.

Operation Christmas Child
Volunteers Needed

Millions of shoe boxes are collected during National Collection Week.  Before these special gifts can bring hope and joy to children around the world,  each one has to be carefully inspected and made ready for overseas shipment by volunteers.

You can help prepare shoe boxes for delivery by volunteering at the Processing Center in Baltimore on
Saturday, December 2nd from 1 pm to 5pm.

Knollwood has reserved 20 volunteer slots.
  • You  must be 13 years old to work at the Processing Center.
  • If you are interested in volunteering, stop by the OCC table at KCC to sign up or contact Judy Corcoran at  [email protected] or  call 703-314-9857 if you have questions.
