Pilot Workshop Series
The Health Cell  has developed a new initiative: a Knowledge Base Program to grow San Antonio's Biomed talent.   T his  4-part  Workshop Series  was designed by biotechnology innovation leaders to guide you through  the integrated and multidisciplinary  process required to bring a "disruptive" medical device to market - from ideation to manufacturing to market.  Faculty and speakers are leaders in the medical technology community.  There will be didactic lectures, team-based projects focused on an unmet clinical need and interactive team based learning and presentations. 
Topics covered:  
  • commercialization of medical technology
  • identify and validate unmet clinical need/market
  • reimbursement and financial considerations
  • regulatory pathways
  • clinical trials
  • R&D, product development
  • verification and validation
  • financing the pathway
Program expectations: 
  • attendance at all four workshops is necessary to receive a certificate
  • devote 4 hours a month
  • pre-reading
  • group work will be required
  • pre-assigned teams
  • pre-assigned clinical topics and solution areas
