The Wedding of Linda's Cousin Laura to Keir Dawson in the UK

We hope you all had a wonderful July the 4th Weekend. Linda had the pleasure of going back home to Manchester for a wonderful family wedding over the long weekend.  Family members include: (top) Andy and Mark, Gemma and Pam with Linda. With sister Patti. (Bottom L to R) The gorgeous bride and groom, Laura and Keir, Jenny, mother of bride, with her mother, Beryl. The beautiful bridesmaids, Gemma and Carly, Andy and Mark with father of bride, Howard. The weather was glorious and we danced the night away at Heaton House Farm, Cheshire.

Author Carrie Morgan has worked for more than twenty years in private and corporate marketing for companies such as American Express Financial, Better Business Bureau and Fidelity National Title. Brother Soldier by Judy Shaffer and Margaret Price

Langtons International Agency is proud to welcome Judy Shaffer and Margaret Price, authors of Brother Soldier, which recounts the journey of how returned soldiers, from Afghanistan and Iraq, who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome, have found salvation through a group called Heroes to Heroes, which was founded by Judy Shaffer, after visiting Israel and seeing how they deal with this situation there. 

 

Co-Author Judy Shaffer (left) has over 25 years experience in radio in management and sales. Margaret Price (right) is a journalist and correspondent for The Christian Science Monitor and the published author of Emerging Stock Markets (McGraw Hill 1994). She is also past president of the New York Financial Writers' Association.

Social Media Tips From Great American Institutions

Harvard and other Ivy League schools have found success in using social media to attract potential students.  As the Internet age rages on, other companies have targeted audiences with similar success.  Here's how:

 

1. Highlight your assets. Harvard posts photographs from, and information about, the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for their Astrophysics Program; they've added a photo of a page that sixteen-year-old Abraham Lincoln scribbled a math exercises on to help lead prospective students to the site.   

2. Reach Out and Make Information Easily Accessible. Universities know that most students belong to at least one social media website, such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, and Youtube, and therefore have used these. 

3. Attract Attention. Use photographs and videos in order to enhance your message.  Start a blog on your website and link it to your Facebook and Twitter pages.    

4. Post regularly. This will keep your pages fresh and your company up-to-date!

Penguin Random House Merger Completed 

The merger between Penguin Group and Random House, which was announced last October, has occurred. With this merger, Penguin Random House has become the world's largest book publishing company and will control over a quarter of the trade book market. More Information.  

Barnes & Noble CEO Resigns Effective Immediately 

The nation's largest bookstore chain, Barnes & Noble, took a hard hit in 2013, with declining sales in both trade stores and the Nook Media. It was announced on Wednesday that CEO William Lynch has resigned, and B&N says "there are no immediate plans to name a CEO." More Information.
