Testing Lunch Procedure
On Tuesday and Wednesday, students will be having lunch in the classroom. Students may bring their lunch, but will need to bring everything they need (i.e. spoons, forks, etc) and they will NOT be allowed to use the microwaves. Homeroom teachers will be collecting the names of the students who will be buying lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday as well as those purchasing milk/juice. Lunch on these two days will be sack lunches. Student accounts will be charged accordingly. Thank you for your help so that we can have a smooth testing week. Lunch will be served as usual for all non-testing students on Thursday and Friday.
Student ID's
As stated in Wednesday Mail over the last few months, student ID's are a part of the uniform for all 4th-10th grade students. Students must be wearing their ID's at all times of the day and will receive disciplinary actions if this ID is not worn. All students have been given one student ID. Lost or damaged ID's may be replaced at the front office for $5 (sorry we do not accept cash).
Consequences for dress code violation:
- 1st time - warning
- 2nd time - DPS, parent contacted
- 3rd time - DPS, parent contacted, and a discipline referral
Account Balances & Student ID's
Please make sure you are checking your students' account balance each week. Students with a balance of $20 or more will not be allowed to purchase lunch/breakfast/milk. Students who have lost or misplaced their IDs may purchase a new one at the front office for $5 (no cash accepted). Student IDs are a part of the student's everyday dress code and should be on them at all times.
Spring Festival
Thank you to all those who volunteered at the Spring Festival. Again, it was a great success!
PTO Board Elections
The April 3rd PTO Meeting was cancelled due to the severe weather on Tuesday. Nomination/Interest Forms are still being accepted for the HSA PTO Executive Board for 2012-2013. Pick up your form at the front office.
If you are interested in serving or know someone who is, please download the Attachment form, complete it and turn it in at the HSA front office marked "HSA PTO Application". Volunteer chairs are needed to serve in many capacities. For further information, contact any PTO Executive Board member. The rescheduled date of the meeting and elections will be announced soon.
Cell Phone Policy Reminder
All cell phones and electronic devices must remain turned off and in the students' lockers during the school day. The school day consists of 7:30am when they arrive at school until they are picked up by their parents. If a student needs to use a phone, they are to use the one in the front office. Cell phones and other electronically devices will be taken up and a fee of $10 will be required to get these items back. For the safety and privacy of all students in our school this policy is strictly enforced.
Yearbooks
It is that time of year again! This year's book is $30 for a hardcover, full-color book. We have purchased some extra yearbooks but it will be on a first come, first serve basis. In order to guarantee that you get a yearbook, purchase yours today!
