A Message From Mr. Stoops
It has been an intense and productive beginning to the administration of the IOWA Assessments, which began on Monday. We have assembled a comprehensive testing schedule throughout the building to establish a productive and positive learning environment which minimizes distractions. Thank you for making sure your child is at school on time and for discussing with him/her the importance of testing. Please keep our students in your prayers for continued success during this important week. Most grade levels will complete testing on Friday, and we will then begin working with students who were absent this week to make-up any missed assessments.
Make Sure To Complete Two-Part Re-Enrollment Process
All families were asked to re-enroll for the 2018-2019 school year by February 28.
This was a two-step process: filling out the electronic re-enrollment form which was directly emailed to each family, and returning registration/technology fees to the school office.

PTA's Spring Gently Used Uniform Sale
The PTA's Spring Gently Used Uniform Sale will be held on
Sunday, March 11th from 9:00 AM -12:00 PM in Conference Room B in the Undercroft. Remember, April 9th is the first day students can wear shorts to school, so come buy the shorts you need or consign the ones you don't!
Buyers: Stop down before or after Mass for our popular bi-annual sale. Please note this is a consignment sale and we pay our sellers in cash, so you'll need to bring small bills for your purchases. Remember - cash only!
Sellers: Start collecting your gently used and outgrown uniform and spirit wear for consignment or donation. Items for sale must be in good condition with no visible stains or defects.

Green Grub Day is March 16th
Once again the Guardian Angels School students will be collecting money for the Lenten Mission collection. On
Friday, March 16th each student is allowed to wear an out of uniform shirt that is Green
THEY BRING MONEY FOR THE MISSION COLLECTION. Students are to wear uniform pants or skirts but may wear school appropriate out-of-uniform shirts that are green to celebrate the Emerald Isle that many of us call our ancestral home!
A minimum donation of $1 is required to participate. We are hoping to support the local charities in their unending work for the poor of Cincinnati. These people, like the real Saint Patrick, work tirelessly to care for the spiritual and physical needs of many hundreds of people, who for whatever reason, have needs they cannot meet.

Donations Collected For St Joseph's Table
During the Middle Ages in Sicily, there was an exceptionally severe drought. No rain fell for an extended period of time, no crops would grow, and countless people died in the ensuing famine. The peasants prayed to God for rain, and they also prayed to St. Joseph to intercede with God on their behalf. They promised that if God caused it to rain, they would have a special feast honoring God and St. Joseph and share the bounty with the poor.
Miraculously, the rains came and the crops were planted. With the harvest, the people prepared a feast of foods from their crops. All were invited to share in the bounty. This has become known as the
Tavola di San Giuseppe (St. Joseph's Table). Through the centuries, and around the world, people have used this festive table to express their thanks for favors granted through the intercession of St. Joseph.
In honor of St. Joseph, whose feast day is
March 19th, we asked the St. Vincent de Paul Society what it needed to help our neighbors today. The items most needed are listed below by grade level. (None of these necessary items may be purchased with Food Assistance Cards.) We invite you to offer a family prayer to St. Joseph, and as a sign of gratitude for our blessings, provide an item(s) for those who count on our generosity. You may bring your offering to school, and place it on our St. Joseph's Table located in the Sixth Grade Hallway from

Spring Musical is 22nd & 23rd
The Spring Musical is quickly approaching. If you are a parent of a participant, please consider volunteering to help out with practices or behind the scenes at the dress rehearsals and at one of the shows. We need lots of volunteers to make this a great production!

March 22nd and 23rd. The shows begin at 7:30pm; doors open at 7:00. Tickets are available at the door and cost $10 per adult and $6 per student. Children 5 and under are free.
Heavenly Hog Jog Is March 24
Save the date for Guardian Angels Annual GA 5K Run/Walk which will be held on Saturday, March 24th. The race begins and ends on Guardian Angels Campus at 9:00am, You can register online through March 22nd.
New this year:
Create or join a team! A team has already been created for each homeroom. The homeroom team with the most participants receives an award. The team can include students, relatives, and friends. When you sign-up online, choose the walk, run, or sleep-in option, and then click Join Group/Team. From there, choose your child(s) homeroom from the drop down menu under the existing teams.
Fish Fry Fridays During Lent
Guardian Angels hosts a fish fry dinner every Friday during Lent in the undercroft from 5:00-7:30. Our Fish Fry event runs now
through March 23rd
. There is no Fish Fry at GA on Good Friday.
Everyone is welcome! There is plenty of food for families to eat-in or carry out. Fried and baked fish, shrimp, cheese pizza, mac-n-cheese, french fries,cole slaw, and baked goods. Senior dining available for parishioners in Room B. There is also a craft corner for children. Children must be attended by an adult at all times. Boy Scout Mulch Sale
The Annual Boy Scout Troop 445 Mulch Sale has begun. This is our 5th year for selling mulch. The scouts earn money for troop campouts and summer camp. This is our only fundraiser of the year. Our delivery dates for this year are

All home games are played on Saturday mornings/afternoons at Guardian Angels Field and GA has partnered with Mercy Health to provide an athletic trainer at all home games!
When registering, grades should be entered as next school year, 2018-2019 (NOT current grade). The GCYL ensures all players are able to participate in football. Similar to previous years, GA will have the opportunity to join forces with neighboring Catholic programs if players are needed.
40 Days for Life
Over the past years, Guardian Angels parishioners have volunteered to cover two of the 40 Days for Life where we have someone continually praying from 7:00am to 7:00pm at Planned Parenthood's abortion facility. Many of our working parishioners try to cover our early and late hours and those available during the day may fill the hours in between.
Please consider joining us as many of our "regulars" can no longer participate mainly for health reasons.

Guardian Angels School Cookie Ministry teams up with the Parish Parish Peanut Butter group to feed families in need. The Peanut Butter group makes 1,500 peanut butter and bologna sandwiches. GA students donate cookies. St. Francis Seraph Church in Over-the-Rhine gives the food to families in need. Students are asked to bring in two dozen cookies, brownies, or rice krispie bars on their classroom's designated day. They do need to be bagged, two treats per bag. All 1st grade classes are responsible for the next donation on Monday, March 12

Box Top Collection
The Guardian Angels PTA is collecting Box Tops from various consumer products. GA students can submit Box Tops to their homeroom teachers and all parishioners can drop off Box Tops in the special collection envelope located on the bulletin board in the Church Gathering Space.
The Box Tops are picked up at the following dates:March 22 and May 19.
We use the funds earned to purchase indoor recess games and outdoor recess equipment. Please start collecting Box Tops today and help us make this year even more successful!
