Please join us for our opening school prayer service this Friday at 2:15 PM in the Church. We will be collecting non-perishable food items for St. Martin DePorres' food pantry. If you are able to contribute, please send your donations in with your student Friday morning.

Ice Cream Sale Friday
8th grade will be holding an ice cream sale this Friday, weather permitting. Each treat will be $1 benefiting the Class of 2019.

Van Gogh Picture Day – Friday, 8/31/18
Van Gogh Photographers is taking photographs of all students in PK3 to grade 7 on Friday, 8/31/18.
Students in K to 7 will be photographed in their uniforms. The office staff sent order forms home for each child on Friday, 8/24/18. Ordering is not mandatory. You can order using the order form or online, but you need to complete the form and return it to your child’s teacher. It is used for identification purposes. Once the proofs of photos are returned to the school we will schedule a re-take day for those who were absent or want a retake. Contact the office at 708-386-7282 with questions.

Calling Early Childhood Parents - You're Invited!
All parents of students in preschool and kindergarten are invited for an evening of child-free fun. Our annual Early Childhood Tailgate Party will be held on Friday, September 28th at the home of Lesley and John Carney. Invites are forthcoming, but mark your calendar. Virtus Training for New Volunteers
Register online at
www.virtusonline.org. The session will be held in the Pine Room from 7PM to 9:30PM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Any person who wants to volunteer with children at the school or parish must be Virtus trained.

Cub Scouts
Ascension Pack #20 Cub Scouts Pack for 1st through 5th grades will be kicking off our 2018-2019 year with our first Pack meeting on Friday, September 14 at 6:30pm in the Pine Room. Please save the date for Ascension's biggest event of the year - the Blue Tie Auction! This year we will be celebrating a wonderful couple who have devoted decades to our school community,
Jill & Chip ('77) Pollard.
The Blue Tie is a wonderful opportunity to show your support of our school while enjoying fabulous food, bidding on amazing items and dancing the night away with friends new and old!

Forms were sent home with the summer packet, but if you haven't yet returned yours to the office, you can submit it online

The Home and School mission is to offer a variety of programs and resources throughout the year to build community and school spirit, enrich the student academic experience, boost parent and guardian involvement, facilitate connections between Ascension students, families, faculty and staff and show support and gratitude to our wonderful teachers. We could not do this without your help! Pay your dues online
here or send a check made out to Ascension Home and school into the office to ensure you receive a school directory.
