BIG Wheels Rain

The Holidays are an excellent time put others first! And Wee DID!
Look What We Did!

~ Hyer's Helping Hands collected 1,500 pairs of socks for us to donate to Rainbow Days!
You guys are amazing! Thank you Erin Schreyer, Keana Meyer and Meredith Ridgway for organizing!

~ A darling Daisy Troop from Armstrong Elementary School donated, sorted and packed over 80 'Hope In A Box' kits for children severed by Captain Hope's Kids. This was a GREAT group of givers!

~ Wee hosted our first Meals On BIG Wheels Birthday Party in celebration of Isabella's 6th Birthday! The kids had a blast delivering meals to clients in need for Meals On Wheels on Locomotion Party Bus, we sang Happy Birthday to Isabella and Wee gave her, her very own Wee Volunteer Chalkboard T-Shirt! Isabella was born to make a difference! She and her friends made a BIG difference for a lot of people in need! Thank you.

~ Mommy Manders hosted THREE Holiday Musical Outreach Projects with three different amazing groups of little ones at three different awesome organizations. Our Wee Volunteers sang Christmas songs, gave out hugs and put smiles on the faces of the elderly residents living at C.C Young Retirement Home in Dallas and Corinthians Retirement Community in Carrollton. Then, Wee brought Mommy Manders to the Family Gateway so Wee Volunteers could sing, dance and celebrate the Holidays together with the kids living at the Family Gateway.

~A wonderfully helpful group of preschoolers from Plano took care of our city's animals this month by volunteering with the SPCA in McKinney. We toured the Perry Animal Care Clinic and fed pigs and horses. Then, we colored adoption signs with information on individual animals at the SPCA to hang in local stores including Starbucks!

~ Wee threw a BIRTHDAY BASH for FOUR kids celebrating their 10th and 11th birthdays at the Pebbles Apartment Complex! Wee brought gifts, cupcakes, candles, drinks, etc. We all played BINGO and the kids had their faces painted by Kim, the owner of the best entertainment company around, Plano Party Animals!! We all had a great time! Thank you Kim.

~We had NINE Meals On BIG Wheels projects including Isabella's birthday party, six deliveries over the holidays in December and two private projects for a FUN group of preschoolers from Park Cities Presbyterian Church and a cool group of High School kids from Yorktown Education! We delivered birthday gifts and sang Happy Birthday to three clients! GREAT JOB Wee Volunteers!!

JANUARY PROJECT SCHEDULE

Celebrating MLK Day of Service!!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'"

Each year, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on the King Holiday to serve their neighbors and communities.

The MLK Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the President's national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together to provide solutions to our most pressing national problems. -http://mlkday.gov/
