Friends of the Farm: Hinterland
Hinterland Gastropub's chefs, Dan Van Rite and Dan Turek, take sustainable, delicious food seriously. So seriously, in fact, that they source seafood from Hololulu, Seattle, and Portland, Maine and get fresh deliveries as much as twice a day! They also reach out to local farmers, growers, and producers, like us at LotfotL, for the best produce, game, and foraged mushrooms they can get their hands on. Hinterland's menu thus changes with the seasons and is always updating. Visit them at 222 E. Erie St, Suite 100, in Milwaukee for dinner from 5-10 pm every night and happy hour from 5-7 pm (with weekday specials!). And for an extra-special dining experience, reserve the chef's table right next to the kitchen and enjoy a five to 12-course menu with dishes like veal heart tartare, wood-fire grilled octopus, and pan seared duck breast .
