Please Return the Plastic Totes
This is a reminder to check your garage, porch, basement, and/or collage students dorm room for LotfotL totes. With only a handful of deliveries left this year, we want to remind folks that it is important that we have all of our plastic totes returned to the farm. If you happened to have one of these adorable totes follow you home during one of this seasons pick ups, please remember to return it to your drop site. This allows the farm to continue with the reusable tote program rather than switching to disposable cardboard boxes.

Friends of the Farm: Buckley's
Buckley's is a family-owned and -operated restaurant in Milwaukee (801 N. Cass St. to be exact) with menus that aim to be "approachable, unique, and dynamic." Featured items include dishes like grilled octopus, habanero plantains with bacon caramel, and homemade pastas. Their brunch menu (served Sundays from 10-2) includes standard brunch fare like eggs benedict and steak and eggs, but also features dishes like homemade pop tarts and duck confit with polenta. The kitchen at Buckley's tries to make most things, like pasta, from scratch whenever possible to ensure the best quality food they can make. They also offer some weekly specials like Meatloaf and Mashers Mondays, half-price bottles of wine every Tuesday and Wednesday, and Fish Fry Fridays (of course!). Be sure to stop on by Buckley's if you're in the Milwaukee area (and be sure to let us know how awesome the bacon caramel is!). Or their website or Facebook page if you're not. Thanks for being a great friend of the farm, Buckleys!

The Dirt on the Farm:
Meet our Japanese Guest, Shota!
Take his Survey
Shota comes to us from Tokyo, to learn more about how CSA is done in the US; funny-- since
it is often said that CSA may have started in Japan. But, it has not really caught on there. He is hoping to raise awareness in Japan of the benefits of local food and then connect farmers with buyers through CSA programs. He will spend just over a week with us here at the farm, interviewing us and working along side us, gaining valuable experience to take home. One of his goals is to talk to CSA customers and learn what and why they like the program. Please consider taking a few minutes to complete his survey online. Take Survey....
