Compass Systems Hosts Government Business Development Forum and Open House

Compass Systems hosted the JARI Defense Business Council's Spring 2018 Government Business Development Forum and an Open House on Thursday, April 19, 2018. Over 95 people attended the networking event and learned more about Compass Systems as well as Hurley IR and Dragonfly Pictures, Compass Systems’ partners. Attendees were able to network with CEOs, business owners and business development specialists to share their capabilities. Compass Systems also gave a tour of their new facility located at 195 JARI Drive, Johnstown.

Cambria County Job Fair Showcasing Approximately 900 Jobs Openings

Area residents are encouraged to visit the Cambria County Job Fair on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Frank J. Pasquerilla Conference Center in downtown Johnstown. The 2018 job fair will host nearly 80 employers and committee members are expecting close to 500+ job seekers. The fair is also featuring nearly 900 job openings throughout Cambria and Somerset Counties.

Admittance is free for job seekers, who will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with regional employers from a variety of sectors, including health care, manufacturing, business services, retail and government. Job seekers of all ages are encouraged to attend and to bring their resumes.

There is still time to register for the Right Here. Right Now. Thought Leader Summit on Entrepreneurship. The event, now less than a week away, will be held on Monday, April 30th at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. Attendees will have the opportunity to l isten and engage with national and local experts who will be discussing the issues of rural entrepreneurship in America’s rustbelt. Keynote speaker, Chris Heivly, will talk about "Building the Fort: Why 5 Simple Lessons You Learned as a 10 year-old Can Set You Up for Startup Success."

Roundtable panelists from the Praxis Strategy Group, Entreworks, Rain Source Capital, and many others will be sharing their insights on innovation, startups and entrepreneurship. Guests will have a chance to ask questions, be introduced to an exciting showcase of local startups, and enjoy networking during the afternoon cocktail event.
