Weekend Wind-Up Newsletter from FAD
Your "Weekend Wind-Up" for October 1st, 2015
With music and liberty for all!

There certainly isn't a lack of venues for catching live music in Fairfield County.  With great stages at The Ridgefield Playhouse, The Fairfield Theatre Co., The Klein and The Stamford Palace, national and international acts abound.

What you may not be familiar with, are the smaller stages that are graced with the likes of Indie bands, heavy metal, Reggae, hip/hop, jazz, rock and amazing up-and-comers of all types.

Check out some of FAD's picks for "finding your herd" or discovering something new.

First up, Seaside Tavern in Stamford.  The front space is your average pub and grill, but head on over to the "back room" and catch yourself some head bangin' fun in an old school ambiance.  They've also got an array of fun games in their game room and locals swear by the sliders.

Second on the list is The Fez, also in Stamford.  The Fez just underwent a major renovation and are once again ready to rock your socks off.  They expanded the bar itself too, which of course makes FAD very happy.  Besides various Indie and rock, they also have great jazz and even an Irish session night two Sundays a month.

Next we head over to a long-time favorite - The Acoustic.  They also underwent a huge renovation about a year or so ago and they did an amazing job.  Many of the bands you see at The Gathering of the Vibes come through The Acoustic and the vibe there is very "peace, love and happiness".  Fantastic stage, lighting and sound too.

Finally, check  out Two Boots in Bridgeport.  Pizza parlor by day, music venue by night, it almost seems like two different places.  Music styles run the gamut here.  Plenty of hip/hop, Reggae, Latin, Indie and more.  They also host comedy shows and - get this - a "Burlesque Drag Show" every so often - a total blast.

If you are a budding music artist yourself, check out all these venues for open mic nights and revel in the spotlight!  Oh, and be sure to tell them FAD sent ya!
