Lake Placid Loop is a 0.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Greenville, South Carolina that features beautiful wild flowers and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail. We will add in a small portion of Mountain Creek Trail and continue to the Outdoor Classroom where we can have a quiet place off trail to celebrate Holy Communion. Total hike is approximately 1.5 miles and is rated EASY. The trail is composed of natural material and relatively smooth but does have some roots and rocks in it. There is a short hill climb and descend at the dam with stairs on the Lake Placid Loop.
We will want to carpool since a PARK PASS is needed for entry.
The park admission fees are as follows:

Atlantic Institute is proud to host our upcoming
Ramadan Dinner in partnership with:
Holy Cross Episcopal
205 E College St, Simpsonville, SC
June 1st
During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast by abstaining from consuming food and water while the sun is out. Iftar- or fast breaking- dinners take place each night once the sun sets. The tradition of Ramadan is important to those who practice it in faith, but it is also a great opportunity to share this tradition with friends over delicious food and through lively conversation. It is a truly special time when people of all backgrounds can come together and share in the Iftar experience, learning about different cultures and faiths in the process.
Atlantic Institute Organizes dinners for the public to enjoy delicious food as well as learn about Ramadan. See below for the list of dinners that we are currently organizing for May 15th-June 15th. The event starts at 8pm and consists of a presentation on what Ramadan is followed by a Q&A session, then a listening to the Call to Prayer. Dinner will be served as soon as the sun sets. We do ask for you to let those that have fasted for the day to go first.

Women's Retreat Silent Auction -
The silent auction was a huge success! We raised money to fund six scholarships! Thank you to everyone who donated items, helped us set up and clean up, and to all who bid on and purchased items. We also owe a huge thank you to Stephanie Urbanowicz and Dionne Sandiford for making the quilt and to Pam Imbler for all of her artistic donations as well as for her time helping us.
If you would like to purchase flowers or a candle for the Altar
there is a sign up sheet in the Narthex. We have multiple openings throughout the year.
Flowers are $65.00 and the candle is $15.00. If writing a check please make sure to note "altar flowers/altar candle" in the memo line.
POWER PACKS
Please help us restock our pantry. Our most needed items are:
- Individual serving size veggie cups
- Individual mac & cheese cups
- Ramen noodle packets
- Microwaveable chicken & rice cups, pop-top Vienna sausage, and other entrees
- Individual serving size breakfast cereal
Monetary donations are also accepted. Please make checks payable to Holy Cross and put "Power PACKs" in the memo line.
We have just one month of school left before summer break. When purchasing Power PACK food donations, please look for an expiration date of no sooner than October 2018 so that any left over food will keep until the next school year. Thank you for your support of this ministry to our community.
"Thank you for your plastic grocery bag donations. We currently have enough bags to last until the end of the school year. Please recycle your plastic grocery bags until further notice."
