Pastor's Study beginning this Sunday 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.  at the church

The group is a 12 week DVD and discussion entitled, " First Light: Jesus and the Kingdom of God." It is a 12-episode DVD study (30 mins) of the historical Jesus and the Kingdom of God, with John Dominic Crossan and Marcus Borg, two of the world's leading Jesus scholars, on location throughout the Galilee and Jerusalem. I anticipate a check-in for about 15 minutes, a 30 minute DVD, and 45 minute discussion for a total of 1.5 hours.

We will skip Christmas Eve (12/24) and New Years Eve (12/31).

If you are interested or need childcare to attend, let me know.

Give us your input on Sunday Worship & Sunday school opportunities!
The Leadership Team has heard many folks talk about:
  • Wanting to get to know each other better through small groups.
  • Some are interested in finding ways to involve the kids in worship as well as attending Sunday school.
  • There is also an interest in Adult Sunday School.

The leadership group would like feedback on a few questions to help us discuss further what most people are interested in.  And remember, you as a member of this church, are invited to be part of the leadership meetings!

During the Advent & Christmas season
we will work together to support Heifer Project

Through Heifer International a donation can provide an animal to a needy family.   These gifts provide food and a way for them to support their families.  We have “Honor Cards” for you to give as a gift to honor a friend or loved one through a gift to Heifer.

Judy Jensen will accept checks made out to Heifer Project. Honor Cards & Gift Catalogues will be downstairs next to the sign up's for you to take a look.

Last year we collected $325.28 which allowed us to give 2 goats ($120 each); a flock of chicks ($30) and a trio of rabbits ($60). Visit the Heifer International Website for more information on this life sustaining program:    Heifer International

Church of the Mountains fully embraces the Open Hearts, Open Doors, Open Minds slogan of the United Methodist Church.

Expanding on that, this small group opportunity is a step in action towards living into that statement more fully by standing up for and welcoming people of all sexual orientations & gender identities and affirming that ALL people are created in the image of God.

Continue to let Cathie know if this is a ministry you support, and we will meet as a group early in the new year.
