Our Community Fundraising Campaign began this week!   Help to raise $10,000 between 8/22/2016 - 10/5/2016

  Dear COM Friends,

Thank you so much for the monetary gift and the well wishes I received recently from you all.  Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated and the monetary gift was a delightful surprise and blessing as it arrived the day I found out I had to have a new car engine! 

I  made a quick exploratory trip to  SoCal to meet the couple I will be living with next year.  John and Carolyn are absolutely lovely people who live in  Altadena a block from  Loma Alta Park.  Their two dogs and my dog all got along quite well.  They are approximately a 15 minute drive from the seminary, which is a huge blessing.  I have already met many of John and Carolyn's neighbors who were also very welcoming.  

So now the task of packing and storing is underway in earnest!   Mikayla and I will head to Seattle on Sept.10 for a check-in with family.  I intend to be in Pasadena by Sept. 21 to settle in and start classes on Sept. 26.

My address for the next year will be 3245  Thurin Ave.,  Altadena, CA 91001.

Church of the Mountains will continue to be in my prayers.  May the Light of our Lord shine brightly in and through us all as we follow Jesus moment by moment, step by step, deeper and deeper.

Remember! Bring us all your CA CRV recyclables to support this ministry!  The funds generated from collecting, sorting & stomping these items are used to support our Food Bag & Coffee Ministries. 

TIPS:
  • Consider asking a few neighbors if they will save their CRV for this purpose!
  • Double check that your recycling donations say CA CRV on them.
  • You can help the STOMP process by sorting aluminum, plastic and glass ahead of time.  Please remove tops and lids too!
  • You can bring these by anytime and leave them beside the porch of our newly remodeled Danforth House (I am in the church daily and will put them away)
