Weekly Letter From Our Pastor
December Message Series: "Let's Sing: O Come, All Ye Faithful"
The opening lines of the Christmas Carol, "O Come, All Ye Faithful," read as follows:
O Come, all ye faithful
Joyful and triumphant
O Come, ye, o Come ye, to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
Such exciting and upbeat words! Totally Christmas worthy.
Not exactly how I was feeling the other night after supper when our youngest pulled out a few hours of homework for her World History class, which needed completing that night. Joyful? Nope. Triumphant? Nope. Eager to come and get started? Again, nope. You know the feeling. An abundance of holiday stress can leave even the most resilient of us feeling taxed to the max.
Then along comes Mr. John Francis Wade, the author of this old song inviting us into a place of joy and faith and triumph in the presence of the King of Kings. Is he really speaking to us? And if so, how can we sing these upbeat words without feeling like frauds? Join us this weekend for, Let's Sing: O Come, All Ye Faithful

Christmas break is an awesome time to clean the carpets of our church home. That's why we're putting together a team to get the job done: find a cleaning service (i.e., ServePro, AAA Maintenance, etc.), then move the chairs out to the cafe & back so the crew has room to do their job. That's it! Please sign up at Clipboard Central if you can spare a few hours this Christmas break. Thanks!

December Monthly Mission
Our December Mission will be to assist the Family House in Rice Lake. The Family House is a shelter open to anyone who is displaced from their home, this would include those who have lost their home, are homeless, are escaping abuse in any of its many forms, or who need a safe place to stay for the night. Residents stay anywhere form a night or two to a month or two.
There are up to 15 residents on any given night. They receive a hot supper (which they help cook), access to laundry equipment, a bed, shower facilities and a hot breakfast. Many may be working, seeking work or be in school during the day and they can return again at 5 pm. Each resident agrees to do chores and the Family House residents keep the place very clean.
Our December goal is to help them with some much needed supplies, bedding and a small gift for their residents. A table with tags of needed items is in Church starting this Sunday and continuing on through Christmas. We will also be collecting funds for a few larger items for their kitchen.
Thank you for your support. -Mark Palma
