Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

Sunday Church
Famous Last Words: Forgiveness - Pray Like Jesus
Many years ago our churches' crazy youth pastor took us through a powerful exercise designed to help us identify, 'what matters most.' Perhaps you've even done it yourself. We were to imagine ourselves as travelers packing for a long boat trip; each one of us able to put any 12 things we wanted in the boat. The boat loaded with our dozen treasures, we pushed off from shore and set the sails. Over the next few minutes our pastor announced varying crises that necessitated tossing things over the side of the boat, until we all had one item left in our respective, 'boats'. In our group of a couple dozen students I remember being surprised that hardly any of us had in our boats the same single item; most all of us had saved something different as our last possession. We discovered there were many different ways to answer the question, 'What matters most?'
Between now and Easter, each weekend we'll head to the place Jesus was crucified, sit down and listen to the last words he spoke before his drawing his final breath. This Sunday we begin with a passage the writer Luke recorded in his story of Jesus: "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Practicing forgiveness: one of the things that mattered most to Jesus. Our preaching theme: "Forgiveness - Pray like Jesus."

Living for Jesus!

Thank You!
Thank you to everyone who was a part of our blood drive today! It is so wonderful to see so many people come together to donate blood, food, time, and love. I appreciate all your gifts and talents. Thank you very much!
-Lynn Johnson
Wednesday Worship
There are tons of important ways we can prepare our hearts for Easter. At Living Water, one of the most intentional is our weekly community meal & worship. Every Wednesday we're served up a simple supper of soup & sandwiches, followed by Holden Evening Prayer in the Worship Center. This year we have a very special treat: weekly installments from a ficticious family as they struggle with the very real-life issues raised by Jesus and his ministry. Here's how it shakes out:
Soup & Sandwiches: 5:30-6:30pm
Worship: 6:30-7pm
JAM (Jesus And Me)
Little Jammers - Mrs. Schmidt
Middle Jammers - Mrs. Schieffer
Big Jammers - Mrs. Wood

You can Facebook message or email her at linz_o@hotmail.com (just be sure to put Family Info For Church in the subject). We want to have every family featured!

Team Meeting: 7-8pm, Wednesday, February 28th
Church, we're calling a meeting of the Ruby's leaders to discuss how we can set up a system of leadership and rotation of specific roles on a given distribution Saturday to better: 1) ensure key areas are covered, and 2) have a, 'deep bench' for when key folks are absent. If you'd like to join in the conversation, please join us right after Lenten worship on Wednesday, February 28. Thanks!
Note from Cameroon Missionaries
The photo I'm attaching is one taken about 10 days ago of a few of the PAACS wives, some children, and two staff wives as we walked to greet and take food to our newly arrived Resident and his family from South Sudan. The rest of us were standing waiting for this group as they walked very slowly, laughing and talking. I'm so thankful for this group of women. The seven pictured here are from six different countries.    -Jim and Carolyn Brown
Save Your UPC Codes
Luther Bible Camp is collecting "Our Family" brand UPC codes off grocery items.  Throughout 2018 any UPC codes you collect (we do not need the entire label, just the physical UPC code) will be sent to Luther Park and your donations will be turned into money for programs they do on Lake Chetek.  A collection container will be in the back of church.  Thank you for supporting this important resource for both children and adults.
Cards For Soldiers - Save The Date!
Immediately after worship on Sunday, March 4  we will set up tables, turn on some music and spend a few minutes writing cards of encouragement to our soldiers deployed overseas. Bring a friend - we'd love to send out a tsunami of support!
P.S. We'll be connecting via Skype with our friends at Madison Ave. Baptist Church in NYC, who will be joining us in this outreach!
Attention Handymen
Are you handy? Do you have a talent or ability that you would like to share? Are you looking for opportunities to serve others in our community with those talents relating to small projects? If you think that's too many questions - then this is right in your wheelhouse. We are looking for men of all ages and all skill sets who like to get their hands dirty. Don't know how to do anything special- we need backs and bodies too. If you have an interest in serving alongside other men out in our community on (blitz) service projects, then we have something in common and an opportunity for you to get involved! Join us on the ground floor of something new- (so new, there's not even a name for it!)
If you know of someone who could use help, or handy work, but has little for resources or ability, we'd like to meet them and take a look!

Meet the Living Water Family of the Week
Names: Roger & Jennifer Hagert & Noah Vought. We also have sons Trent Hagert (UW-LaCrosse) and Dane Hagert (St. Cloud State University)
Something interesting about our household:
We seldom sit around watching tv together, instead we dance, sing and listen to music a lot!
How we became connected to Living Water:
It all started with an invitation from friend and fellow co-worker Jennifer Bourget.
What we like about Living Water:
We love the family atmosphere, friendliness and welcoming nature of the congregation, Pastor Ned and his great sermons, the programs that are provided for the many youth, and most of all the opportunities that are presented to get directly involved in helping to give back to the community and the Church.
