Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

Small Things, Big Difference:  Habits
One of my favorite authors is Mark Jenkins, an adventurer/explorer/writer for Outdoor Magazine.  The son of a gymnastics coach, Mark and his brothers learned the sport's disciplines from an early age.  In his book, "The Hard Way," Mark writes about a friendly family gymnastics competition that has continued into adulthood.  Every Thanksgiving, one by one the brothers make their way down to the bowels of the basement to the chin up bar.  Adjacent to the bar is there father, sitting on a stool, paper and pen in hand.  After the last son has completed the last chin up, coach dad returns to the upstairs living room to announce the year's winner.  In keeping with tradition dad never shares the total (nor do the boys), though Mark knows it has to be somewhere in the range of 100.  Yes...100 chin ups.  The approximate number he and his brothers do every single morning the minute they climb out of bed.
Habits... disciplines.  Every one of us has them; things we do on a regular basis without giving it much if any thought.  This weekend we wrap up our January series, Small Things that make a Big Difference, by exploring God's role in habits.  Specifically, the power we have as Jesus followers begin doing now, what we... and more importantly God...wants most.  Join us for the conclusion to, "Small Things, Big Difference:  Habits."

Living for Jesus!

January Preaching Series:
Small Things, Big Difference

This Sunday we finish up our January preaching series:  "Small Things, Big Difference."  Each week end for the past four Sundays we've been exploring one small thing we can do at the start of 2018 to help us better hear God's voice and follow his lead into the kingdom life and blessings He is preparing for us.  Our final installment:  "Small Things, Big Difference:  Habits"
Chicken Coop Church
January - what a huge month for the Coop.  Four years:  that's how long this rag tag band of Jesus lovers has been together as a church.  Earlier this month they hosted a big celebration to thank God for all the Spirit has accomplished in and through them, then sent us this short video so we can share in their praises and thanks to God.  Please click here to take a look.
JAM (Jesus And Me)
Winter/Spring schedules are busy and we are lacking a few teachers for JAM. For the time being, the K-1 class and the 2-4 class will not meet on the last Sunday of each month. Please keep your children with you during church, do not send them to the younger class as it will be full. The 3 year old-4K class will have class every week. See the Facebook JAM page for a more detailed schedule. If anyone has the desire to volunteer to teach, let Christine Ebner know.
This Sunday:
Little Jammers (3year olds-4K) - Mrs. Ebner
Middle Jammers (K-1) - Miss Leah
Big Jammers (2-4) - Mrs. Ebner
Easy Yoga for Women:
Beginner's Class
This Sunday!

Join us Sunday, this Sunday from 11am-Noon. Julie Emerson will be hosting an easy yoga class for women who want to start the new year off right! This class is for all levels. Just bring a water bottle! Yoga mats will be provided.  Cost: $5  No pre-registration is needed for this event.
Living Water Calendar
Want to know what's happening at your church?  One of the absolute best ways is the Living Water App.  Simply open the app and when you get the Welcome Page, click on the calendar button, located on the bottom.  We work really hard to update it each week with things you'll want to know. Thanks!
January- LW's Monthly Mission
When it comes to kindness, what we all know and have experienced is this:  small things can make a big difference.  Elsewhere in these Weekly Announcements you'll see a note asking us to share our stories and experiences with kindness over the next 52 weeks.  This month we're using our January Monthly Mission to help kick off a whole year, "Acts of Kindness," inviting you to make an intentional effort at being kind, then sharing that story so that others might be empowered & inspired by your example.  Thanks!  - LW Mission Team
LW Ministry Partner Opening: Wedding Coordinator
Throughout the year, Living Water has the privilege of hosting the ceremonies of couples getting married.  We currently have a position open and are seeking a person or persons who might be interested in serving in this role.  For more information please contact Pr. Ned at: ned.livingwater@gmail.com
Living Hope Therapy Solutions
Rev. Jennifer Larson LaRue, an ELCA pastor and registered Marriage & Family Therapist, has opened a new practice here in Cameron.  She is now seeing clients at Living Water on Tuesday evenings.  Jennifer is a gifted counselor and we are really excited to have her as part of Living Water.  To schedule an appointment simply go to https://www.schedulicity.com   You may also phone Jennifer at (833)LIV-HOPE 548-4673 to leave a message for a return call to set up an appointments.
E-Prayer Team: Prayer Coordinator
Living Water is searching for someone willing to step in the role of e-prayer coordinator.  This person would receive prayer requests, then shoot off a prayer email to the members of the team.  That simple, but that important.  Could you possibly do this?  Then please contact your church office!    livingwatercameron@gmail.com
Starting Point - Sunday, January 21, 10:30-12:30pm
In 2018 we're trying something new:  a one-time Starting Point class held on a Sunday after worship.  If you are new to Living Water and would like to dig a little deeper into this church that's all about, "serving others through Christ," please sign up at Clipboard Central.  Free childcare will be provided.
New Men's Small Group
We've got an idea for a new men's small group.  Connecting up guys who like to fix & build things, with short-term mission projects out in the community.  If this sounds like a way you're feeling pulled to serve others through Christ, you're not alone!  Sign up at Clipboard Central and/or give Ike Stouffer a call at:  (715) 645-0319.

On Saturday, February 10 from 9 am to noon Living Water will be offering a one-day workshop for all those wishing to join our weekly meal called Holy Communion.  Parents - if your children have been asking about the bread and wine, it may be time to come and join this conversation.  Sign up is at Clipboard Central.  Please contact Pastor Ned with any questions.
