Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

Sunday Church: "The One Thing"
One of the most memorable scenes in the movie City Slickers , is when Curly (played by Jack Palance), gives Billy Crystal's character Mitch, some life advice.

"Do you know the secret of Life?" Holding up one finger, Curly says to Mitch,   "This."
"Your finger," replies Mitch?
"No," says Curly. "One thing. Just one thing. Stick to that and you'll be just fine."
Curcous, Mitch asks,"What's the, 'one thing?'"
With his trademark wry smile, Curly says, "That's what you have to find out."

Sunday morning five young men and women will stand before us in the 411 Building and do one very big thing:  publicly confess their belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior.   At any age, a huge step!  Immediately the questions come tumbling out:  Are they ready to do this?   How much do they know?  Have they mastered the essentials needed to be faithful Jesus followers?

In the midst of taking pictures, cutting cake, praising God, and offering Him our lives, this weekend we will be doing a most important work as church: pausing for a holy and sacred moment to ask that God's Spirit would be stirred up in these sisters and brothers in Christ; praying that God would bless their witness and journey as they continue following Jesus and growing in faith; and reminding ourselves of, "The One Thing."

Cleaning the 411 Building
Serving others through Christ:  while there are limitless ways to live into our mission statement, one big one is signing up for church cleaning.  Here are a couple things to know when you sign up:  1) cleaning is typically done sometime after Wednesday evening activities and before Sunday morning Worship;  2) email the church office at  livingwatercameron@gmail.com  to arrange for a key card that will allow you access to the building.  Thank you for giving this offering of your gift of time and elbow grease in cleaning God's house!
Save Your UPC Codes
Luther Bible Camp is collecting "Our Family" brand UPC codes off grocery items.  Throughout 2018 any UPC codes you collect (we do not need the entire label, just the physical UPC code) will be sent to Luther Park and your donations will be turned into money for programs they do on Lake Chetek.  A collection container will be in the back of church.  Thank you for supporting this important resource for both children and adults.
Living Water Kids Collection Jar
Sunday morning when the offering's announced, they spring into action! Little ones running all over the worship center collecting spare change & dollars for the Kid's Collection Jar. Their energetic, faithful effort is a steady source of funds for the outreach we do day in and day out at Living Water. Thank you for so generously supporting your churches' Mission Fund!

Let's Eat!
Where are the food pantries in our area?  How do I access free or reduced cost meals?  How can I stretch my food dollar so that my whole family has enough to eat?  Is it possible to get notices when free food is being given away near me?  Good news:  Living Water has created a food app that answers those questions, and more!  Simply click on this link to download the new, "Let's Eat!" food app:    http://get.theapp.co/10b8/
New Women's Study:
"Girl, Wash Your Face"

Lies we tell ourselves...struggles with self-doubts as a mother, wife, friend...woman believer. The author of, "Girl, Wash Your Face," shares her gifts of honesty, humor andmotivation all in one book. This new LW Women's Group hasn't set a time and place (maybe...Cabin Coffee!!); we'll do that once we see who's on board & when we can all meet. Click here for the link to order the book; sign up is at Clipboard Central. Please contact Chantel Randell with any questions at: ctelrandall@gmail.com
Camp Noah - Volunteers Needed
Camp Noah is a week long day camp that Living Water will be offering to the kiddos in our neighboring communities June 18-22. Camp
Noah is originally established as a camp for kiddos dealing with a trauma or life changing event but everyone is welcome to attend. Registration is free for the kids attending. We are looking for some awesome volunteers that would like to help with the check in process each day from 8:30am-9am, lunch prep and cleanup from 10:30am-12:30pm and then check out process from 2:30pm-3pm. High school students who need service hours are welcome to join us! You don't need to be there all day...Camp Noah provides certified staff that will lead the sessions and work directly with the kids. We just several volunteers to cover check-in, food prep and lunch and then check-out. Please consider joining this awesome experience for one day or all five! If you have any questions, please contact Julie Emerson emersonfamily1@gmail.com or 715-651-2299 or sign up on the clipboard.
