HELP SPONSOR A CHILD
FOR A WEEK AT KANUGA'S CAMP BOB!
Each summer St. John's sends 100 inner city children to Camp Bob at Kanuga for a week of fun in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. The cost per camper is $350. Members of St. John's have generously donated both their money and their time and talents to make this special week happen for children who would otherwise never have the opportunity to experience a week of carefree camping. If you are able to donate any portion of this amount to help send a child to summer camp for a week, it would be most appreciated.
Please consider donating money in honor or memory of a loved one
prayerfully consider volunteering your time and talents
week of July 3-July 7.
Forms are in the Welcome Center or contact Ken Loeber at email@example.com or

Come join the Handbell Choirs for some great food and beautiful music! Janie will be making her World Famous Fried Chicken for dinner that night
(our last Wednesday night supper for the school year!) Come have dinner
(remember to RSVP to the church office if at all possible so Janie doesn't run out of chicken!) and then enjoy the handbell choirs in their year end concert!
Getting ready to your old backpack to celebrate the end of the school year?
If your gently used backpack (school-aged children to adults) is still in decent shape (no holes, broken zippers, etc.), consider donating it to our homeless neighbors at the Urban Ministry Center! They use backpacks to carry their scant belongings with them as well as for pillows, back support and to shield themselves from adverse weather. Please consider dropping off any backpack still in good working order between now and June 18. There will be a donation bin at the main entrance for any backpacks you bring. Thank you so much for your generosity!
SIGN UP PERIOD EXTENDED THROUGH MAY 22!

While many have stepped forward to help with Vacation Bible School this summer, we still need adult volunteers to complete our team of heroes.
Can YOU make time to join our team of heroes on June 19-23?
It will make a big difference for the children of our fair parish. No prior VBS experience is necessary, just a willingness to help the children to have a great week. And, since it is a half-day program, people with some schedule flexibility still have their afternoons free to work or play. If you can jump into action to save the day, please contact Family Minister Matt Williams at the church as soon as possible, or complete a volunteer form available in the Welcome Center, in Tilson Hall, or on the parish website.
Vacation Bible School: June 19-23, 2017 from 9am-12:30pm
Registration forms for aspiring heroes (ages 3 through 5th grade) and youth and adult volunteer are available in the Welcome Center & on the church website. Questions? Contact Mattman, the Superhero (alias Matt Williams) at 704-366-3034 or firstname.lastname@example.org
