Congregational Meeting
Thursday, April 20th
7:00 p.m. in the Nave
 
Bishop Anne Hodges-Copple will return to St. John's on Thursday, April 20th, to update the congregation on the healing and reconciliation process with Fr. Paul. A great deal of important and clarifying work has been accomplished. The Bishop is eager to present all the  information possible to allow Fr. Paul and all the people of St. John's to move forward appropriately and expeditiously. The meeting will take place at 7:00pm in the Nave.

This Sunday, April 23, we will begin our Summer Worship Schedule.

Freaky Fast Formation starts on April 23 We will be in  Tilson Hall from 9:30-9:55  ( we told you it was fast!) .   Don't let the impending switch to the Summer Worship Schedule keep you from growing in your faith!  Join us for  Freaky Fast Formation ! Tucked ever so neatly between the 8:45 and 10:00 morning worship services, this quick shot of Sunday School will give you something fun and thought-provoking to consider every week.  All ages and all stages are welcome! 
 
SUNDAY MORNING SCHEDULE FOR MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH:
Given our new worship schedule, youth Sunday school classes will now be offered at the following times:
9:30am - 9:55am: 6th/7th grade class (Room 315)
9:00am - 9:55am: Confirmation Class (Room 304/05)
9:00am - 9:55am: High School Class (Room 308)


EYC Serves: Community:  This Sunday is our final EYC Serves for the 2016-17 year!  Youth will work in crews to complete minor landscaping, painting, cleaning, or other projects for homeowners in need around the Charlotte area! Be sure to wear clothes that can get dirty and CLOSED-TOED SHOES!  Work time will last about an hour and a half to two hours and some crews will also eat a meal together.  Students can text parents when on the way back to SJE! Crews will meet at St. John's as follows ... contact your advisors with any questions:

Middle School Inasmuch Mission Trip

High School Domestic Mission Trip
This trip will head to either Blue Knob, PA (low income area) or Eastern NC (Hurricane Matthew recovery).  Team members registered will vote on April 30th.

Episcopal Outreach Camp 
Trip dates: August 6-9
Location: Charlotte
This is a local, overnight experience with other churches in our convocation. Middle schoolers are campers; high schoolers can be counselors.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: June 19-23, 2017 from 9:00-12:30 each morning.  Registration forms for aspiring heroes (ages 3 through 5th grade), and youth and adult  volunteers, are available in the Welcome  Center and on the church website. Thursday May 18 - Book Talk with Sally Brewster!
Come one come all for ECW's annual book review with Park Road Books' Sally Brewster.  We will begin at 6:00 with a light supper and Sally will talk books, bringing several along with her for sale for your summer reading and gifting pleasure!  Beach reads to Biographies to Best Sellers, Sally has it all.  RSVP to Rawles Kelly at  rawles153@att.net  or on our St. John's Episcopal ECW Facebook page under Events.  See you there!  Bring friends!
The  Loaves & Fishes  Ministry Team had a busy 1st quarter schedule.  Under the able leadership of Judie Ratcliffe, the team...
  • Delivered 1200 pounds of food collected at St. John's
  • Worked a total of 150 hours staffing two separate pantries with up to six volunteers working minimum 3 hour shifts on our average of 2-6 days per month
  • Served an average of 20 families at each pantry on our work days
The St. John's Ministry Team to the Men's Shelter served a delicious, hot meal to 91 men Saturday, April 8, at the Shelter.  Team members were Tricia, Elizabeth, and Katherine Jetton, David and Mary Ann Cash, Stew McGough, and Janie Wooten.

Have you offered your Commitment Card to God and St. John's yet?   If not, there are cards available for each member of your family here at the church or you can call the church office and we will be happy to mail them to you.  Completed cards may be returned to the baskets on the Altar in the Nave, Chapel or Parish Hall or you may return them by mail if that is more convenient for you at this time.
