Dealing with a Life Threatening Diagnosis and Illness
Co-Lead by Rob Voyle and Brad Smith
Tilson Hall - 10:15-11:00am

This program is designed to grow our own understanding of what we may experience and what a loved one may experience when we receive a life threatening diagnosis.

Week 1, October 15: How Do We Consider Our Physical Bodies?
Am I my body or do I have a body? If the latter, who is the "I" that has a body?
Come and explore your self-understanding and how you relate to your physical body and the consequences that may arise when we are given a life threatening diagnosis.

Week 2, October 22: Responding Emotionally to a Life Threatening Diagnosis.
We may have heard the terms denial, anger, bargaining, but what do they really mean? How do we live with ourselves emotionally when we are caught between life and death?

Week 3, October 29: Our Spiritual Experience of a Life Threatening Diagnosis.
Our spirituality and theological understanding teaches us about life and death. On being given a life threatening diagnosis and illness, we taste our own mortality that brings into focus what we really believe.
