STUDENTS OF THE WEEK
Each week, our teachers nominate a Student of the Week for each grade level who are consistently "Doing the Right Thing" academically and behaviorally.

Last week's BMS Students of the Week are:

8TH GRADE OPEN HOUSE
All 8th grade students and their parents are invited to attend an Open House at Beachwood High School on Tuesday, Nov. 10th at 7 pm. You will have the opportunity to tour the school and speak with teachers and administrators. RSVP to Shana Wallenstein

7TH GRADE IOWA
The 7th graders will be taking the Iowa Assessment during the week of November 9 -13 in the morning.   

NO LATE START ON NOVEMBER 11
The 7th graders will be taking the IOWA assessment on Wednesday, November 11.  There is no late start for everyone.  School begins at 7:30 am.


EARLY DISMISSAL ON NOVEMBER 24  
The students will be dismissed at 11:30 on Tuesday, November 24.  Lunch will be served at 11:30.  Buses will pick up students at noon immediately after lunch.  Students are permitted to leave at 11:30 if they are not waiting for a bus.  

VIOLINS OF HOPE CONCERT
The middle school will be traveling to Severance Hall on Thursday, December 3, to watch the Cleveland Orchestra perform Violins of Hope.  The students will leave for the concert around 9 am.  The concert begins at 10 am.  We should be back to the middle school around noon.  Students will eat lunch when we return.  Please make sure students have a good breakfast in the morning since everyone will be eating a little later.  Permission forms will be brought home this week.

THURS., NOV. 12 : RAISING KIDS IN A DIGITAL WORLD
In partnership with the Beachwood Media Specialists, the Beachwood PTO presents a two-part panel on Raising Kids in a Digital World. We begin with a Teen Panel where parents are invited to hear from local teens as they talk about the ups and downs of their digital lives. Learn more about this upcoming event.  Learn more about this upcoming event here and mark your calendars now.

BOYS VARSITY BASKETBALL PREVIEW NIGHT
This Friday night, November 13th at 7 pm, the Boys Varsity Basketball team presents "Bison Madness in the South Gym at BHS. This preview of the upcoming season will feature a dunk contest, 3 point shot contest, skills challenge and an inter-squad scrimmage. Admission to the event is 1 canned food product or $2 and all proceeds are donated to a local food pantry.

REMINDER OF UPCOMING BOARD PRESENTATION

MON. NOV. 16: ELEMENTARY & ATHLETIC FACILITIES, Presented by  Superintendent Bob Hardis 
and Treasurer Michele Mills

For several years, the district has been studying the needs of our aging elementary and athletic facilities. Mr. Hardis and Ms. Mills will detail plans for major upgrades to our elementary buildings, our athletic fields districtwide, and the high school natatorium. Ms. Mills and Mr. Hardis will also provide an overview of district finances, the financing of these specific capital projects and related information regarding an operating levy timeline.
