THURSDAY, AUGUST 7TH - 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm: First Thursday at PRE FUNK BEER BAR with BOISE BEER BUDDIES, Author Steven Koonce, and SOCKEYE BREWING Pint Night to Celebrate IPA Day! In the words of BOISE WEEKLY: 'In our recent Beer Issue--which hit stands July 2--Boise Weekly had the fine idea to conduct Q&As with brew aficionados Stacy Connelly and Steve Koonce. Well, Pre Funk Beer Bar (1100 W. Front St.) agreed it was a good idea to pair the two together, so has invited them down for First Thursday.

Koonce's 2014 book, Idaho Beer: From Grain to Glass in the Gem State, explores the history of Idaho breweries and offers a roadmap to the future of Idaho beer. He'll be selling and signing books at 6 p.m.

Connelly is the queen of boisebeerbuddies.com--a weekly newsletter about all things beer, including news and events. While she's at PreFunk, she'll sell memberships to Boise Beer Buddies, which gives beer-lovers discounts at breweries around the Treasure Valley.

The folks at PreFunk will be serving beer at Boise Art Glass next door throughout the evening, as well.'

Dan Costello Music : Blending classical, bluegrass, funk, rock, jazz, and folk may be difficult, even hazardous, but singer-songwriter and guitarist Dan Costello is up to the challenge. His performance experience ranges from hard rock bands to jazz ensembles to medieval instrumental troupes. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in classical guitar in 2001 and works both in and out of the scholastic realm as a performer, accompanist, editor, composer, arranger, lyricist, teacher, and producer. Costello is an outspoken advocate of local grassroots music.
