BSU Innovation Lab; Boise Public Library; Trailhead; BEER Tasting by POWDERHAUS BREWING COMPANY. Join Boise's maker community for a fun, interactive meeting of makers working with biomimicry and Virtual Reality. Ok, ok. I know you're wondering. What's biomimicry? Biomimicry is innovation using ideas from nature. Biomimicry is how inventor George de Mestral came up with the idea for Velcro. After watching his dog get covered in burdock burrs he saw that each burr consisted of many tiny hooks. This event is designed to inspire you to generate your own maker ideas. Meet an innovative group of DIY-ers and creative tinkerers. Makers bring individuals together from various backgrounds and are members of a flourishing tech-influenced DIY community in the Treasure Valley. It's going to be fun and it's going to be free. Bring the whole family! Participants include Boise State University Albertsons Library MakerLab students, staff, and faculty.
