Firkin Frolic Beer Fest
@ The Basque Center: To answer your question...yes, a "Firkin" is a type of beer. A Firkin cask or "container" can be made out of wood or metal and the beer that inside this container has been called "Real Ale." What is special about a Firkin is the way it is made and tapped. The Firkin has not been cold-filtered, carbonated, or touched by any outside equipment and this process produces a very unique beer. To tap the Firkin, the keg is set on its side and a tap is driven in with a hammer. It can be a messy and explosive process, but it is an exciting one.
Join us for Boise's first ever Firkin event and walk away with a new experience and a custom Firkin Frolic tasting glass.
