Come just to listen or to dance to the blue grass and old time musicians who play every  Tuesday and Saturday beginning at 7pm. Admission  is $5 on Tuesday and $6 on Saturday. Line Dancing classes are also offered on Monday nights beginning at 6pm. The Jubilee is located on North Main Street, across from the Courthouse.

Local blue grass and old time musicians jam each Monday, 2 blocks north of the Courthouse at the Crouse House in Crouse Park, beginning at 6pm. Come and play or just listen. No charge, but a donation is appreciated. 336-372-5473

Barn Quilt Trails 

Barns and other buildings around the county display squares illustrating quilt patterns and add interest to a driving tour of the countryside. Drop by Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center for a brochure. We are in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.

Driving Loops
Brochures for three driving loops of the Alleghany country-side are available at the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center. Each loop is about a leisurely hour's drive and includes information on historic points along the way. The Chamber office is in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Our foyer is always open and a brochure is always available.
Be sure to visit when planning a trip this Spring or Summer. Open Thursday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm. There's never an admission charge. Stop by to experience local history and to see the new displays, 7 North Main Street, Sparta.

Veterans' Morning Coffee & Breakfast
 at the VFW
The VFW hosts an informal full breakfast including, biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, and coffee every Wednesday from 8:30-11am. All veterans are invited to attend.  Click to learn more .
 
The VFW Military Museum is open to the public, 10am-2pm, every Wednesday and Saturday in the basement of the VFW Post 7034, 1193 US Highway 21 S, Sparta, NC. Admission is free.

Welcome New Members!

Please join the Chamber in welcoming two new members,
Mountain Top Farms and Blue Ridge Fiber Fest.
Mountain Top Farms is a family farm raising heritage and rare breed rabbits for pedigreed breeding stock and for meat. We also have eggs from our pastured chickens available.
Blue Ridge Fiber Fest is a non-profit hosting the Fiber Festival June 2-3, 2018.

Mud Sling


The mudsling will be held at the Alleghany County Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 19th beginning at 6:00 PM. 
Totality on the New: Eclipse View

August 21, 2017 at Riverside Canoe paddle along the New River and watch the eclipse. Return to Riverside for a BBQ. Holden Bare will be providing music from 5:00-7:00 and reservations are required.
$60.00 per person. Includes boat, food, safety glasses, commemorative T-shirt and entertainment.

Mountain Soul 

The Mullins Sisters (Gospel, Bluegrass, and Country) Gloucester, Virginia will be performing on
August 27th beginning at 6:00 PM.
The Mountain Soul Music Festival will be held on every last Sunday of the month starting in April until December at

NC 28675.
Admission is free but donations are appreciated.
