Come just to listen or to dance to the blue grass and old time musicians who play every Tuesday and Saturday beginning at 7pm. Admission is $5 on Tuesday and $6 on Saturday. Line Dancing classes are also offered on Monday nights beginning at 6pm. The Jubilee is located on North Main Street, across from the Courthouse.

Barns and other buildings around the county display squares illustrating quilt patterns and add interest to a driving tour of the countryside. Drop by Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center for a brochure. We are in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Brochures for three driving loops of the Alleghany country-side are available at the Alleghany Chamber of Commerce and Visitors' Center. Each loop is about a leisurely hour's drive and includes information on historic points along the way. The Chamber office is in the rock building with the green awning (58 South Main Street, Sparta). Veterans' Morning Coffee & Breakfast
at the VFW
The VFW hosts an informal full breakfast including, biscuits, gravy, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, and coffee every Wednesday from 8:30-11am. All veterans are invited to attend.

Chamber Business After Hours
Baywood Boys BBQ will be having a Business After Hours on April 6th, from 5 PM until 7 PM. There will be drinks and snacks. Everyone is welcome to come and experience what the Baywood Boys Restaurant is all about.
Chamber Clean Up Day!
There will be a clean up day March 30th from 4:30- 6 PM and April 1st at 10 AM at the Chamber of Commerce to get the back building cleaned out and ready for the new renovation!

Tickets for the 8th Annual Empty Bowls on April 10, 2017 are available for sale now at the Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are $30 each and all proceeds go to the Children's Feeding Program.

Free Community Screening at the Library
The Alleghany Library Lunch 'n Learn
is scheduled for

After the screening, audience members can participate in a guided conversation of how to take steps to identify and communicate wishes about end-of-life goals and preferences. Whitehead Community Building Annual Spring
Whitehead Community Building in Whitehead is having their Annual Spring Fundraiser on Friday, March 31, starting at 5 PM. They will have hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, drinks and desserts
available for purchase. At 6 PM there will be Bluegrass music, auction, and a cake walk. At 8 PM they will be raffling off a beautiful handmade quilt. The quilt can be seen at the Barber Shop on Main St. and raffle tickets are available at this location as well.
